Sickness and Flu Reminders
With flu season in full-swing please be diligent in monitoring your child’s health.  School policy is that children must be fever-free (without medication) with no vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school.  

 

Auction News

Tickets are on sale now for our 17th Annual Auction! Invite friends and family to enjoy a night of fun at the Flint Farmers’ Market on March 14 at 6pm. Tickets are required.

Enrollment Opening Soon

Enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year opens on March 1.  More information to come soon.  A few things to keep in mind for yearly enrollment.

End Of The Year Tax Statements

Please contact Cheryl Britton at cbritton@geneseechristianschool.com if you need a copy of your daycare or latchkey year-end tax statement.  Statements will be emailed to the address we have on file.  Paper copies are only available upon request.

 

Elementary

 

Bucks for Bibles Day – Friday, February 20

The next Bucks for Bibles day is scheduled for this Friday. Elementary students may bring a dollar to wear athletic pants and t-shirts.

Tardies

The school day at the elementary school begins at 8:15 a.m. Students should be in their classroom, seated and ready to start their day at that time. If you arrive after 8:15 a.m., please walk your child into the school to sign them in.

Elementary MACS

Elementary MACS art is due tomorrow, so that the proper forms may be submitted on time.

Kindergarten Enrollment 

Do you know someone who has a five year old ready for Kindergarten in the fall?  We want to meet families personally and take them on their own tour of the school.  Invite them to call and schedule a tour or go to the school website to submit an inquiry for more information.

Middle/High School

Bucks for Bibles – Friday, February 20

The next Bucks for Bibles day is scheduled for this Friday. Bring $1 or more to wear school-approved jeans. This is a fundraiser for our Bible project. 

 

Pastors’ Luncheon for Middle and High School 

We are grateful for our pastors! On Thursday, February 26, we’ll honor them at our annual Pastors’ Luncheon. Each church should have received an invitation recently, and your student(s) received one to hand deliver to their pastor this past week also. Please encourage your child to personally invite their pastor, as a personal request feels more meaningful than a letter. We hope all our churches will join us in showing appreciation for our pastors on this special day!

Seniors

Please send your Open House information to Mrs.Mein at mmein@geneseechristianschool.com. We are compiling a document that is shared with all senior parents to help with planning so that open houses do not overlap.

 

Athletics

 

We will be having our annual “Athletic Senior Night” on Friday, February 20th, after the Varsity Girls basketball game and before the Varsity Boys warm up.  This is a night in which we honor seniors who have participated in Athletics at Genesee Christian in 9th-12th grades.

🌟  We ask that seniors and their escorts assemble in the hall outside of the gym at 6:45 p.m. Mrs. Walls will be there to help athletes and their escorts lineup. We will use the art room to keep coats and belongings safe during the event.

Athletic Physicals🩺

For the 2025-26 school year, an MHSAA sports physical is required for all students who participate in sports. A physical examination must be completed on or after April 15, 2025, to be considered a valid physical for 2025-26. – This applies to any students participating in high school and middle school sports. 

The MHSAA two-page physical form can be found using this link MHSAA25-26SportsPhysicalForm or  it is also available in the school offices.

 

Students planning to participate in athletics MUST have this physical form on file by the first day of practice. Forms must be on file at the school athletic office before try-outs, practices, or games.

      

Sports Fee

Each student athlete must pay the following sports fee per sport/per season. These fees should be turned in by cash or check made payable to GCS to the Athletic Office before the first game.

🏀Varsity Boys Basketball

District play begins next week @ Everest. 

  • Game Time: Feb 25, 2026 at 5:30 PM @ Everest Collegiate HS (5935 Clarkston Road, Clarkston)
  • Parking: There is limited parking in the rear and side of the high school, but plenty of parking in the front of both the high school and academy.

The season is coming to a close quickly.  Clean uniforms will be due back to the athletic office by Thursday, Feb. 26th.

⚽️HS Girls Soccer:

Coach Chapman will be hosting girls soccer open gym this Saturday, Feb.21st from 8am-10am in the HS Gym.

 

⚾️HS Baseball Open Gym Workouts: 

Coach Payne will be hosting a baseball open gym this Saturday, Feb. 21st from 7pm-9pm in HS Gym.
