Lunch Accounts

Please check your Family Portal Finance tab to make sure that your child’s lunch account has a positive balance. Lunch accounts are prepaid. All students ordering school lunch should have a positive balance of at least $5.00 in their lunch account before ordering lunch. 

 

Semester Reminders

  • Family Portal: Please check your account to make sure your contact information, address, church, and emergency contacts are correct. 

 

  • Parent Alert- Notification System

These alerts may be used for many reasons but will primarily provide a fast, efficient way to communicate with school families in the event of an emergency.

 

To ensure that you are able to receive our alerts, please text the keyword “START” to 31706 from your mobile device. Any text alerts from our school will begin with “Parent_Alert: GEN-MI ” and calls will show from “810-743-3108.”

 

Note: Per the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, we have to provide all recipients the option to Opt-Out of receiving our alerts. Anytime we send out a text alert you will see “Stop to End.” If you reply “Stop” you will no longer receive our text alerts even if we select you as a recipient.

 

Report Cards

MS/HS/Elementary report cards will go home on Monday, January 26th. 

 

Auction News

Tickets are on sale now for our 17th Annual Auction! Invite friends and family to enjoy a night of fun at the Flint Farmers’ Market on March 14, 2026. Doors Open at 6pm. Tickets are required.

Auction Tickets/One Cause

The Game Board Competition is happening until March 1st for both the High School and the Elementary. Rules and regulations are posted next to the boards. Every donation moves your child’s game piece closer to a grand prize.

Valentine’s Day Orders – Due Friday, February 6th 

Support the Senior Class and get something special for your friend, family member, or favorite teacher. Orders are due Friday, February 6th. K5 will be receiving their items on Wednesday, February 11.  Little Leaders and 1st-5th will receive their items on Thursday, February 12th. End Of The Year Tax Statements

Elementary Family Fellowship- Thursday

Plan to join us January 22 for an afternoon or evening of fellowship as we look forward to the new semester.

  • Afternoon Session:
    • 3:00-3:30 Refreshments and displays in the gym.

Winter Outerwear

Please send your child to school every day with boots, snow pants, coats, hats and warm gloves.  Please label all outerwear. The school does not provide “in case you forgot” extras.

Winterfest – January 26th-30th

Jeans or athletic pants are allowed on all days if participating in the dress day.

Sports Team Day – Promote your favorite sports team by wearing jerseys, sweatshirts, hats, or other sportswear

Twin Day – Dress alike with someone else

  • Wednesday – 1/28*

Soup-er Sweater Day – Wear a cozy sweater and enjoy a soup lunch with your class

Blackout Day – Dress in black for a black-light lunch

School Spirit Day – Go all out and show your school spirit! Dress in GCS blue and white spiritwear

*Wednesday note: We need your help! Families from each class can sign up to provide soup, crackers, and cookies. Students should provide their own drinks. The Beanery will be open for snacks/ drinks.

The HS kitchen will not be serving hot lunch.

HS MACS

For those attending HS MACS, the registration fees are due Monday, January 26th to Mrs. Houle.

Athletics

We will be having our annual “Senior Athlete Night”  this Friday, January 23rd, right after the Varsity Girls basketball game and before the Varsity Boys warm up.  This is a night in which we honor seniors who have participated in Athletics at Genesee Christian in 9th-12th grades.

🌟Acknowledgement forms were due to the athletic office by January 14th in order to be included in the program.

We ask that seniors and their escorts assemble in the hall outside of the gym at 6:30 pm.  Mrs. Walls will be there to help athletes and their escorts lineup. We will use the art room to keep coats and belongings safe during the event. 

Come Hungry for Chili on Senior Night.  Varsity Soccer Girls Concessions will be selling chili bowls and other snacks!

Athletic Physicals🩺

For the 2025-26 school year, an MHSAA sports physical is required for all students who participate in sports. A physical examination must be completed on or after April 15, 2025, to be considered a valid physical for 2025-26. – This applies to any students participating in high school and middle school sports.

Students planning to participate in athletics MUST have this physical form on file by the first day of practice. Forms must be on file at the school athletic office before try-outs, practices, or games.

      

Sports Fee

Each student athlete must pay the following sports fee per sport/per season. These fees should be turned in by cash or check made payable to GCS to the Athletic Office before the first game.
