Christmas Concert

A big THANK YOU to all who came out to support the students at the Christmas Concert on Friday night!  The students did a wonderful job praising God for sending the greatest gift, His Son, to be the Savior of the world.

 

‘Tis the Season-for Sickness and Flu
With flu season in full-swing please be diligent in monitoring your child’s health.  School policy is that children must be fever-free (without medication) with no vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school.

End Of The Year Latchkey Statements

We are quickly approaching the end of 2025, so please have your latchkey account paid in full.  Information regarding End of the Year Tax Statements will be issued in January.  Please contact Cheryl Britton at cbritton@geneseechristianschool.com with billing questions or ProCare issues.

Winter Outerwear

The weather outside is cold.  Please send your child to school every day with boots, snow pants, coats, hats and warm gloves.  Please label all outerwear. The school does not provide “in case you forgot” extras. Students need the fresh air and movement breaks. Unless the wind chill or temperature is too low, we WILL be going outside!

Middle/High School

MS/HS Lunch Changes

In January 2026, lunch prices at the MS/HS will increase slightly due to rising costs. For more information visit the website or view the January lunch calendar here: January HS Lunch Menu

As a reminder, please make sure that your lunch account on Family Portal has a positive balance of at least $5. 

 

Christmas Dress Days – December 15-19

Monday, 12/15 – Grinch Day 

Dress in green or as your favorite character from How the Grinch Stole Christmas

 

Tuesday, 12/16 – Winter Wonderland Day 

Dress in blue and white or as anything snowy.  Jeans are allowed if participating.

 

Wednesday, 12/17-  Candy Cane Lane Day 

Dress in red or white in a candy-cane theme.  Jeans are allowed if participating.

 

Thursday, 12/18 – Cozy Christmas Day

Dress cozy and warm – hats, scarves, blankets, slippers, sweats, or athletic pants. The Student Council will be selling goodies and giving away free hot cocoa!

 

Friday, 12/19 – It’s About to Get Ugly Day 

Dress in your ugliest Christmas sweater.  Athletic/sweat pants allowed.

 

General Instructions about dress days:

  1.   If hats are worn, they must be off during class.
  2.   Jeans may be worn Monday-Friday (loose-fitting jeans, no holes, frays, or skinny jeans) if participating in the   

      dress day.

  1.   A no-collar rule applies for the week for the guys if they participate in the dress day.
  2.   Full-face painting is not allowed during the school day but may be worn for games.
  3.   Spray-on hair coloring is allowed during the school day if it is part of the “dress” for the day.
  4.   GCS modesty standards apply every day.
  5.   The regular dress code still applies for those who do not participate in the dress days.

Bake Sale for Student Council 

The MS/HS Student Council is having a bake sale on Thursday, December 18th.  If you would like to help by providing some Christmas treats for the students to purchase before school and during snack time, please click here:  Bake Sale Sign Up

Christmas Activities

On Friday, December 19, the GCS high school students will be going ice skating and the middle school students will be going bowling.  If your student will not be attending these activities, they must fill out a pre-arranged form for the absence (available in the office). Athletic Physicals🩺

For the 2025-26 school year, an MHSAA sports physical is required for all students who participate in sports. A physical examination must be completed on or after April 15, 2025 to be considered a valid physical for 2025-26. – This applies to any students participating in high school and middle school sports.

Students planning to participate in athletics MUST have this physical form on file by the first day of practice. Forms must be on file at the school athletic office before try-outs, practices, or games.

      

Sports Fee

Each student athlete must pay the following sports fee per sport/per season. These fees should be turned in by cash or check made payable to GCS to the Athletic Office before the first game.

 ➽➽Varsity – $150.00   ➽➽JV – $125.00  ➽➽  Junior High – $100.00   ➽➽  Jet League – $50.00

 

🏀HS Basketball: L👀King Ahead

Away Games- Tuesday, January 6th:  JV Boys / Varsity Boys & Varsity Girls Basketball Teams will have early dismissals with bus transportation. All players are required to ride the bus as a team to the game.  Please check the Winter Athletic Schedule for more details

The Athletic department appreciates your help in making our Home Games a success.

Our Soldiers need volunteers for the admissions table and game clock. 

Bonus: your immediate family gets into the games for free that night!  

🏀HS Girls Basketball: 

    • The first game is scheduled for today: Monday, December 15th @ Linden
  • (Varsity Girls at 7:00pm) 
  • Sports Fee of $150 is due today, Monday, 12/15. Cash or check (made payable to GCS) accepted.

  • Please note that washed / clean uniforms will be due Tuesday, January 6th. Receiving them back in a timely manner is important.  We appreciate your promptness.

  • Practices will begin in January.
