‘Tis the Season-for Sickness and Flu
With flu season in full-swing please be diligent in monitoring your child’s health.  School policy is that children must be fever-free (without medication) with no vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school.

Combined Elementary & HS Christmas Concert 

Make your plans to join us for an enjoyable evening of Christmas music at the all-school Christmas Concert this Friday, December 13, at 7:00 p.m. at Mayfair Bible Church.  The concert will include musical numbers from all of the elementary students and several high school groups.  All students involved in the concert will be expected to arrive at the church at 6:30 p.m.   Doors will open to guests at 6:00 p.m.

Sign In Changes

We are pleased to announce that our daycare and latchkey sign-in process will be changing!  In January, parents will be able to sign their children in and out through the ProCare app on their phone. Please be sure to download the app to use this feature.  More information will be announced after Christmas break.

 

Latchkey

All latchkey statements will be sent to the email address that we have on file.  If you are not receiving statements, please contact Cheryl Britton at cbritton@geneseechristianschool.com.  Paper copies are available upon request.

 

Elementary

Winter Outerwear

The weather outside is cold.  Please send your child to school every day with boots, snow pants, coats, hats and gloves.  Please label all outerwear.  Unless the wind chill or temperature is too low we WILL be going outside!

Bucks for Bibles Day – Friday, December 13

The next Bucks for Bibles day is scheduled for this Friday. Elementary students may bring a dollar to wear athletic pants and t-shirts.

Christmas Concert

The concert is this Friday evening, December 13, at 7:00 p.m. at Mayfair Bible Church. 

Elementary girls concert attire: Girls should wear a dressy Christmas outfit; please be sure that it meets the GCS dress standards (knee-length, no sleeveless).

Elementary boys concert attire: Boys should wear nice pants (no jeans, please) and a red or green collared shirt or sweater (no t-shirts).

Christmas Pajama Day

On Monday, December 16th elementary students and staff can stay cozy as they wear their favorite (school appropriate) Christmas pajamas to school.

Little Caesars Fundraiser Delivery!

Mark your calendar and plan to pick up your pizza kits this Thursday, December 12 at 3:05 in the high school cafeteria.  We do not have freezer space to store them for you –  they must be picked up on Thursday.

Bucks for Bibles- Friday, December 13

The next Bucks for Bibles day is scheduled for this Friday. Bring $1 or more to wear school approved jeans.  Remember – this is a fundraiser for our Bible project. 

 

Christmas Concert

The GCS Christmas Concert is this Friday, December 13, at 7:00 p.m. at Mayfair Bible Church. Students should arrive by 6:30 p.m. Please make sure that you have purchased the required concert attire if you are a part of the concert (6th graders, 7th graders, band, and HS Choir).  See links below:

Bake Sale for Student Council

Christmas Dress-Up Days

This year, we plan to add some Christmas spirit by having dress-up days during the week before Christmas break!  We will see which class has the most “Christmas spirit.”  **Please note: Jeans are allowed only if you are participating.**

Here are the dress days (MS/HS ONLY) for December 16-20:

Monday, 12/16- Grinch Day – dress in green or as any character from How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Tuesday, 12/17- Winter Wonderland – dress in blue and white or as anything snowy

Wednesday, 12/18 – Candy Cane Lane – dress in red or white in a candy-cane theme

Thursday 12/19 – Cowboy Christmas – dress as a cowboy in flannel or plaid

Friday 12/20 – Ugly Christmas Sweater Day – dress in your ugliest Christmas sweater

 

Christmas Activities

On Friday, December 20, the GCS high school students will be going ice skating and the middle school students will be going bowling.  If your student will not be attending these activities, they must fill out a pre-arranged form for the absence (available in the office). Permission slips and money for these events are due this Friday, December 13.  Contact Mrs. Mein with any questions mmein@geneseechristianschool.com. 

 

 

Athletics

Athletic Physicals🩺

Students planning to participate in athletics MUST have a physical form on file by the first day of practice. This form must be the MHSAA form completed and signed by a physician on or after April 15, 2024. This applies to high school and middle school sports. Forms must be on file at the school athletic office before try-outs, practices, or games.

Sports Fee

Each student athlete must pay the following sports fee per athlete/per sport/per season. These fees should be turned in by cash or check made payable to GCS to the Athletic Office before the first game.

Away Games Tomorrow / December 10th:  Teams will have early dismissals with bus transportations.  Please check the Winter Athletic Schedule for more details

The Athletic department appreciates your help in making our Home Games a success.

Our Soldiers need volunteers for the admissions table and game clock.

JH Girls / Varsity Girls / JV Boys / Varsity Boys Basketball Teams Sports Photo Day: 

Team & Individual Photos will be taken on Monday, December 16th. Bring complete uniforms (home and away) and be ready right after school.  Everyone must be in the team picture which is used for the yearbook.  Individual pictures will only be taken if you tell the photographer you are ordering.

These make great Christmas gifts for yourself and family members sitting on those hard bleachers!.  Help Soldier Volleyball raise funds for new uniforms!
