Google Calendar – Updated regularly
GCS has a Google School Calendar that is updated regularly that you may add to your personal Google Calendar. The calendar link is also available on the Homepage of our website.

Picture Retake Day- Date coming soon
Picture packages will be delivered soon. Picture retakes will be scheduled for late October. Students who were absent on our original picture day will have their picture taken on retake day.

Orders are due TODAY! Deliveries will be made on Friday, October 18th.
Little Leaders Preschool/Daycare and Latchkey

Latchkey snack tickets are available for $10.
Billing Information
The daycare has recently partnered with ProCare and will no longer be using FACT SIS for daycare/latchkey billing and payments. You will soon be receiving an invite from ProCare to set up an account through them. Please contact Mrs. Britton at cbritton@geneseechristianschool.com for questions about ProCare or your daycare/latchkey account.
Elementary
Elementary Parent/Teacher Conference – Oct 8
There will be no school for students on Tuesday, October 8. Conference times are available to schedule from: 10:00 am -11:45; 1:00-3:45 pm; 5:00-6:15 pm. Please call the office (810-743-3110) to schedule an appointment.
Grandparents Day
The program will be at South Baptist Church on Friday, October 11th at 10:00 am. This event is for grandparents (or stand-in grandparents) only. Thank you for turning in both permission slips.
Slush on Thursday
Due to Grandparents Day on Friday we will have slush for sale on Thursday this week. You may purchase a ticket for $10 to keep in the classroom or send in $1.00.
Language Help Class
Every Monday and Thursday from 7:40- 8:00 am there will be a free Language help class held in Miss Schmidt’s room for students in 4th and 5th grades. Students will practice basic grammar concepts to strengthen their understanding. The first class will be held on Monday, October 14.
Fall Weather Approaching
Because of the cooler mornings, the grass is wet for morning gym classes and recess. Please send an extra pair of socks with your child.

Middle/High School
Middle & High School Parent Teacher Conferences – Oct 8
On Tuesday, October 8th there will be no school for students.
Conferences will be 10:00-12:00, 1:00-4:30, and 5:30–7:00 p.m.
Each parent who wishes to meet with a teacher may do so on a first-come, first-served basis at the Middle/HS. We are asking that parents keep meeting times to 5 minutes per conference. This should allow parents to speak with each teacher regarding their student’s grades/progress and will keep waiting time to a minimum.
Junior And Senior Parent Meeting
The meeting for Juniors, Seniors, and their parents has been scheduled for October 8th at 7pm in the HS cafeteria. Please plan to attend this meeting as we will be covering many important details for Juniors and Seniors:
- GCS events for Juniors and Seniors (fundraisers, senior trip, etc.)
- College application process – FAFSA, College Board, class selection, etc…
- Options for paying for college
- Deadlines – AP testing, Jostens, final transcripts, etc…
Lost and Found
Please make sure to visit the lost and found outside of room 104 during Parent Teacher Conferences. Lost and Found will be cleaned out and items will be donated to a local charity on Wednesday.
Juniors – PSAT/NMSQT Testing
The Juniors will be taking the PSAT/NMSQT test this Wednesday, October 9. Please make sure that your student arrives at school on time on Wednesday. Late arrivals will not be admitted into the testing room once the testing has begun.

Athletics
Athletic Physicals🩺
Students planning to participate in athletics MUST have a physical form on file by the first day of practice. This form must be the MHSAA form completed and signed by a physician on or after April 15, 2024. This applies to high school and middle school sports. Forms must be on file at the school athletic office before try-outs, practices, or games.
Physical forms are TWO pages – access using link: MHSAA24-25PhysicalForm or pick up @ the HS office.
Sports Fee
Each student athlete must pay the following sports fee per athlete/per sport/per season. These fees should be turned in by cash or check made payable to GCS to the Athletic Office before the first game.
