Picture Retake Day- 10/30

Picture retakes will be on Thursday, October 30th. Students who were absent on our original picture day will have their picture taken on Retake Day. If your student is having retakes done, please send the original picture package with them to school. 

Raise Right (SCRIP) Gift Card Program

This program, designed to help families with tuition costs while making everyday purchases, also helps support the school’s general fund.  

The Christmas season is approaching QUICKLY!  During the holiday season, RaiseRight offers a wide variety of bonuses including $5 and $10 gift cards.  Buying gift cards this year for the holidays?  During November and December, you can earn 75% of the rebates that are earned through the program. Orders for physical cards will be placed on the following Tuesdays at 9 a.m.: 11/4, 11/18, 12/2 and 12/9. 

 

Blood Drive

The Honor Society students of Genesee Christian School are reaching out into our community by sponsoring an American Red Cross Blood Drive.

The blood drive is scheduled for Friday, November 21, 2025 from 9:00am to 2:45pm in the High School Cafeteria.

Flu season is approaching! While we are proactive with keeping our classrooms sanitized we need your help to stop the spread. Please be sure to keep your child home if they are running a fever or not feeling well. 

 

Latchkey Sign In

Please continue to sign your child in and out in the latchkey book. At this time, please do not use the ProCare QR code. If you have children in both daycare and latchkey, you will need to use the book only for all your children.

Parent Teacher Conferences – Oct 23

There will be no school for students on Thursday, October 23. Conference times are available to schedule from: 10:00 am -11:45; 1:00-3:45 pm; 5:00-6:15 pm. Please call the office (810-743-3110) to schedule an appointment.

Bucks for Bibles- 10/24 

We will be having a special Bucks for Bibles this Friday, October 24th.  In anticipation of the big game on Saturday, it will be a “Great Divide” day – pay $1 to wear sweats or athletic pants and your favorite Michigan or Michigan State gear!

Book Fair: October 13- October 27

The book fair is open until October 27th. All orders must be placed online, and will be shipped to the school after 10/27. Fall Weather is Here

Because of the cooler mornings, the grass is wet for morning gym classes and recess.  Please send an extra pair of socks with your child.

 

Operation Christmas Child Boxes 

We will be participating in the Operation Christmas Child program again this year. Our goal is for each class to pack at least two boxes this year – one for a boy and one for a girl. Students will write letters, color pictures, and pray for the children who receive these boxes as they hear the salvation message. 

We are in need of “Wow” items for each box. A boy or girl gift as the focus of each box is the greatest need. Families may send in items to be packed or if you would like to order through Amazon you may view our “wish list” here:  https://a.co/7WGadNz. This link is also a great way to get shopping ideas if you choose to shop personally. Boxes need to be packed by the beginning of November!  

We will also need financial donations for shipping the boxes – at $10 per box this year we are looking to raise around $200 for the shipping.  If you are able to help with shipping please send in cash or check payable to GCS to the elementary office. 

Christmas Store

We are looking for parent volunteers to help with the Elementary Christmas Store December 2-4 helping students shop and wrapping gifts, among other things.  Please reach out to Mrs. Forsyth at sforsyth@geneseechristianschool.com if you are interested.

Middle/High School

 

Middle & High School Parent Teacher Conferences – Oct 23 

On Thursday, October 23rd there will be no school for students.

Conferences will be 10:00-12:00, 1:00-4:30, and 5:30–7:00 p.m. 

Each parent who wishes to meet with a teacher may do so on a first-come, first-served basis at the Middle/HS.  We are asking that parents keep meeting times to five minutes per conference. This should allow parents to speak with each teacher regarding their student’s grades/progress and will keep waiting time to a minimum.  

Junior And Senior Parent Meeting

The meeting for Juniors, Seniors, and their parents has been scheduled for October 23rd at 7pm in the HS cafeteria.  Please plan to attend this meeting as we will be covering many important details for Juniors and Seniors:

  • GCS events for Juniors and Seniors (fundraisers, senior trip, etc.)
  • College application process – FAFSA, College Board, class selection, etc…
  • Options for paying for college
  • Deadlines – AP testing, Jostens, final transcripts, etc…

 

Bucks for Bibles Fundraiser- 10/24

We will be having a special Bucks for Bibles this Friday, October 24th.  In anticipation of the big game on Saturday, it will be a “Great Divide” day – pay $1 to wear jeans and your favorite Michigan or Michigan State gear!

Annual Fall Fundraiser 

Time to stock up with Little Caesars Pizza Kits. This optional fundraiser earns money for students to be applied to their upcoming Mackinaw, Creation, Washington DC, and/or Senior Trip. Fundraiser packets were sent home with all 6th – 9th graders.  If your 10th – 12th grader would like to participate they can pick up a packet from Miss Eskew. Orders are due by Monday, November 17. Athletic Physicals🩺

For the 2025-26 school year, an MHSAA sports physical is required for all students who participate in sports. A physical examination must be completed on or after April 15, 2025 to be considered a valid physical for 2025-26. – This applies to any students participating in high school and middle school sports.

Students planning to participate in athletics MUST have this physical form on file by the first day of practice. Forms must be on file at the school athletic office before try-outs, practices, or games.

      

Sports Fee

Each student athlete must pay the following sports fee per sport/per season. These fees should be turned in by cash or check made payable to GCS to the Athletic Office before the first game.

9th-12th Grade Boys Soccer Players⚽️

Varsity Boys Clean uniforms are due back to the athletic office by Thursday, October 17th. Please place clean uniforms in the blue return bin located in the front of the athletic office.  We appreciate your promptness!

Soldier Volleyball🏐:

  • JH Volleyball Uniforms are due Past Due.  Fall Uniforms: should be washed and returned within one week of the last game.  Uniforms should be placed in the blue return bin located inside the athletic office.

7th-12th Grade Cross Country👟

  • It is MHSAA Regional Week for our Cross Country teams

 MS Teams compete @ Brown City Tuesday, 10/21 (runners will be dismissed early @2:15)

  • Girls: 4:30 PM
  • Boys: 5:30 PM
  •  6:40 pm Award Presentation
  • Admission $6.00 per person or $10 per carload (Cash or  GoFan)
  • Limited Concessions will be available, cash only
