End of the Semester – Important upcoming dates for both Elementary and MS/HS

Wednesday, January 15 – Semester Exams – out at 2:00 p.m.
Thursday, January 16 – Semester Exams – out at 2:00 p.m.
Friday, January 17 – Semester Exams – out at NOON (NO Latchkey)
Monday, January 20 – Martin Luther King Jr. Day – No school
(MTA bus will be running on early dismissal days)
Lunch Accounts
Please check your Family Portal Finance tab to make sure that your child’s lunch account has a positive balance. Lunch accounts are prepaid. All students ordering school lunch should have a positive balance of at least $5.00 in their lunch account before ordering lunch.
Auction News
The GIFT CARD BLAST for the month of January is underway! Every student/family that brings in a gift card ($10 value or higher, please) will be entered into a drawing for a special prize. To be entered into this drawing bring in your gift card by January 31st! Please be sure to fill out the auction donation form located on the school website (see link below) or in either school office.
Auction Sponsors & Ads Needed
We are currently looking for business sponsors and advertisers for our 16th Annual Benefit Auction, taking place on March 15, 2025. If you own a business, or know someone who does, this is a great way to advertise your business and support GCS!

Valentine’s Day Orders – Due Friday, February 7th
Support the Senior Class and get something special for your friend, family member or favorite teacher. Orders are due Friday, February 7. K5 will be receiving their items on Wednesday, February 12. Little Leaders and 1st-5th will receive their items on Thursday, February 13th. Order forms for Elementary students will go home in folders soon! Order forms can be found online, in either school office, or you can use the link below:

Blood Drive
The Honor Society students of Genesee Christian School are reaching out to their community by sponsoring an American Red Cross Blood Drive.
The blood drive is scheduled for Friday, February 7th, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. in the High School Cafeteria.

Little Leaders
Sign In & Out Changes
Beginning Monday, January 13, all daycare/latchkey families will be able to use the QR code to sign your child in and out. QR codes will be available at all daycare and latchkey rooms. Please follow the posted steps to help with the process. You must first download the ProCare app to use this feature-no photoscans are accepted.
Tax Season – Day Care Statements
If you would like a copy of your 2024 daycare statement, please email Cheryl Britton at cbritton@geneseechristianschool.com and request a copy. Statements will be issued on a first come first served basis, and will be emailed directly to you. Paper copies will be available upon request. Accounts can also be viewed on ProCare.

Since Friday is a noon dismissal, slush will be served on Thursday.

Winter Outerwear
The weather outside is cold. Please send your child to school every day with boots, snow pants, coats, hats and heavy gloves. Please label all outerwear. Unless the wind chill or temperature is too low we WILL be going outside!

Robotics Team Opportunity
Cyber Soldiers “Build Week #2” will focus on vision processing and software updates. Using vision sensors and cameras to align our robot for scoring will create faster cycle times and bring a competitive advantage. Athletics
Athletic Physicals🩺
Students planning to participate in athletics MUST have a physical form on file by the first day of practice. This form must be the MHSAA form completed and signed by a physician on or after April 15, 2024. This applies to high school and middle school sports. Forms must be on file at the school athletic office before try-outs, practices, or games.

Sports Fee
Each student athlete must pay the following sports fee per athlete/per sport/per season. These fees should be turned in by cash or check made payable to GCS to the Athletic Office before the first game.
