Homecoming

For our homecoming game, we have a new attraction this year! An inflatable obstacle course!! We will also have our regular bounce house available.  At the gate, we will be selling wristbands for these attractions. Ages 4 and under are $2 for unlimited bounce house play; ages 5 and up are $3 for unlimited bounce house play and access to the obstacle course.

Picture day is Wednesday, Sept. 10th. If this is not your regularly scheduled day, you may bring your child in at the time of pictures. 

 
Latchkey

We are asking all families that will be using Latchkey on a regular basis to let us know ahead of time. This will help us with staffing and planning for the school year. Elementary Lego Robotics 

We’re excited to announce the GCS Lego robotics club will begin on September 9th! This is open to 4th and 5th grade students. The club will meet in the High School robotics room on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00pm-7:30pm. The $50 registration fee is due the first evening of the club. Homecoming Help – September 26

The Elementary is planning to sell popcorn and slush at the Homecoming event. We need parent volunteers to help run concessions. The more people willing to help the easier it is.  Please email Mrs. Arnst at jarnst@geneseechristianschool.com or call the office to sign up. GO SOLDIERS! 

 

4th/5th/6th Grade Girls Basketball Program: Sign Up thru Friday (9/5)

This is an entry-level league that teaches the fundamentals of the game through volunteer coaches. Everyone gets a chance to play.  

All games are played on Saturday mornings, with each game taking an hour to play. All teams will play 1-2 games each Saturday spanning eight weeks. The first date of the play will be October 4th with the season ending Nov. 22nd.  League games will be played in the 8:00 am-3:00 pm time block each week.

GCS participates in this league if we have enough players to fill a team and coaching availability.  

Teams typically practice twice each week @ the elementary gym (times & days TBD).

There is a $50 sports fee for all participants due by the first game.

Admissions will be charged for all spectators ($4 for individual ticket, $10 for family ticket, $2 for Senior ticket 60 and over).

Middle/High School

 

MS/HS Attendance Line
If your student is in the Middle or High School and will be absent, please call the attendance line before 9:00 a.m. at  810-743-3292.

Pick up and Drop off – different in the morning and afternoon
Students may be dropped off at the Cafeteria entrance as early as 7:30 am. (students must remain in the Cafeteria until 7:45).  Students may be dropped off at the center doors in the morning starting at 7:45 am. Students should be picked up by 3:30 pm at the Cafeteria end (north lot) of the building.  The center doors are reserved for MTA bus riders at the end of the day. 

Robotics

The Cyber Soldiers robotics program is open to students in grades 6 – 12. We are looking for new team members! If you are interested or would like more information, please email robotics@geneseechristianschool.com or karl_fleischmann@yahoo.com for more details.

 

Impact Camp – 11th & 12th Grade – September 3-5 

The Juniors and Seniors will be attending the school “Impact Camp” from Sept. 3rd-5th at Camp CoBeAc.  These instructional days will include many team building and leadership activities along with motivational biblical challenges.  If you would like to help meet some of the additional financial needs of this activity, donations can be sent to the HS Office.

 

Creation Trip- September 3-5

The 8th and 9th grade students will be using three instructional days to visit the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter on September 3-5. This is an exciting opportunity to experience first hand the truths presented in Genesis and reaffirm their biblical belief in Creation.

Senior Pictures Taken Here – Wednesday, September 10, 2025

In the past few years it has become increasingly difficult for high school Seniors to obtain a head and shoulder picture for the yearbook. This year GCS is having Photo Factory come to the school on September 10th to take yearbook pictures of our Senior Class.  The ENTIRE class will have a school picture taken (at no cost) to be used in the yearbook.  Additional copies will be available for purchase through Photo Factory. PLEASE NOTE: Girls will need to wear a nice modest blouse for their picture, and boys will need to wear a collared shirt and tie.

 

Homecoming – September 26

The Student Council is working hard to plan dress days, 8th hour activities and more.  Stay tuned for details!

 

We need convertibles for the Homecoming Court for our halftime presentation. Please contact marmbrust@geneseechristianschool.com if you are able to help with this need.

Athletic Physicals🩺

For the 2025-26 school year, an MHSAA sports physical is required for all students who participate in sports. A physical examination must be completed on or after April 15, 2025 to be considered a valid physical for 2025-26. – This applies to any students participating in high school and middle school sports.

Students planning to participate in athletics MUST have this physical form on file by the first day of practice. Forms must be on file at the school athletic office before try-outs, practices, or games.

             

Sports Fee

Each student athlete must pay the following sports fee per sport/per season. These fees should be turned in by cash or check made payable to GCS to the Athletic Office before the first game.
