Auction Tickets and News

JUST added: Check your email for a new incentive just released from our Administrator!

We are still in need of many items for the auction, so we’ve extended the donation deadline to Monday, March 3! Thank you to the families who have brought in auction items already. GCS Family Fun Day- March 22nd

Join us Saturday March 22nd  from 9:30 am-11:30 am for a GCS only event at Rollhaven.

Skaters– $10, Skate/Blade rental- $5 Adult spectators– Free

Bounce house for littles– $3 Laser tag– $5 per game

We would love to see you there and we look forward to spending the morning with our GCS family!

A portion of the money raised goes towards the Class of 2025 senior trip.

Tax Season – Day Care Statements

If you would like a copy of your 2024 daycare statement, please email Cheryl Britton at cbritton@geneseechristianschool.com and request a copy.  Statements will be issued on a first come first served basis, and will be emailed directly to you.  Paper copies will be available upon request.  Accounts can also be viewed on ProCare.

 

Elementary

Elementary MACS Fine Arts Competition

Our 4th and 5th grade students will be participating in the Elementary MACS Fine Arts Competition this Friday, February 28. It will be held at Bethany Christian School in Troy. Students who are riding with staff to MACS must be at the High School cafeteria (north side of the building) by 7:40 a.m. to be counted and loaded into cars. All students will meet at Bethany Christian in Room 205 at 8:45 a.m.  The students should be in concert dress. This will be an exciting day of art, music and speech for our students. There is a spectator fee of $5 per person at the door. Spectators: please dress business casual.Come and support our talented Soldiers!

Kindergarten Enrollment (K5) 

Do you know someone who has a five year old ready for Kindergarten?  We want to meet families personally and take them on their own tour of the school.  Invite them to call and schedule a tour, or go to the school website to submit an inquiry for more information. 

Book Fair

Our school is participating in the “Ready? Let’s Read!” Christian online book fair. A flyer went home in your child’s folder last week. The fair runs from February 24 to March 9, kicking off our annual Reading is Fun day in March.  Please note: Genesee Christian does not necessarily endorse all books available.

Middle/High School

Kroger Bags
If you use Kroger grocery pick-up the office would love to have the white Kroger bags that your order comes in. These bags are really useful for books that need to go home to absent students.

Pastors’ Luncheon for Middle and High School 

We are grateful for our pastors! On Thursday, February 27, we’ll honor them at our annual Pastors’ Luncheon. Each church should have received an invitation in the mail or from a student. Please encourage your child to personally invite their pastor, as a personal request feels more meaningful than a letter. We hope all our churches will join us in showing appreciation for our pastors on this special day!

6th Grade-MACS Fine Arts Competition

MACS competition for those in 4th-6th grade is this Friday! ALL 6th grade students need to be at the HS building by 7:40 am!  (MTA riders may not ride the bus in the morning) Please remember to wear concert dress. 

*The GCS bus will be returning from the event to GCS by approximately 2:45 pm so students will be able to ride the MTA buses home if needed. 

*There is a spectator fee of $5 per person at the door. Spectators: please dress business casual. Come and cheer on our Soldiers in the Fine Arts!

Auction

We are still in need of many items for the auction (deadline extended to March 3).  Every Middle/High School student/family that brings in $200 or more worth of items, gift cards, sponsorships, and or advertisements will receive 5 BONUS DRESS DOWN DAYS!!!

Washington DC Trip Meeting

There is a meeting for the upcoming DC trip on Thursday, March 13 at 7 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. It is important that all participants be there. Contact Katie Heath with any questions kheath@geneseechristianschool.com  

Seniors

Please send your Open House information to Mrs.Mein at mmein@geneseechristianschool.com. We are compiling a document that is shared with all senior parents to help with planning so that open houses do not overlap. 

“SAVE AROUND” Coupon Books (similar to “Entertainment Coupon Books”) 

This is a great opportunity for your family to earn money for class trips!  The coupon books cost $25 each with a 50% profit to the seller.  The sale runs now through March 7th.  For more information, please check for an email from Miss Eskew.

Athletic Physicals🩺

Students planning to participate in athletics MUST have a physical form on file by the first day of practice. This form must be the MHSAA form completed and signed by a physician on or after April 15, 2024. This applies to high school and middle school sports. Forms must be on file at the school athletic office before try-outs, practices, or games.

Sports Fee

Each student athlete must pay the following sports fee per athlete/per sport/per season. These fees should be turned in by cash or check made payable to GCS to the Athletic Office before the first game.

🏀Varsity Boys Basketball: District play begins this week @ Dryden.

  • Game Time: Feb 26, 2025 at 7:00 PM @ Dryden HS (3866 Rochester Rd)
  • Parking: Parking is available in front of the school off of Rochester Road.
  • Spectators enter from the front high school entrance
  • Doors Open: Doors will open for spectators 30 minutes prior to game

⚾️HS Baseball Open Gym Workouts: 

Coach Payne will be hosting baseball open gyms every Saturday from 7pm-9pm in HS Gym.

Spring Sports:

If your student is planning to participate in spring soccer, baseball or golf please make sure they have turned in a completed MHSAA sports physical signed by a physician dated on or after April 15, 2024. Current physicals are required on file before coming to first practice.
