Auction News
The GIFT CARD BLAST has less than 2 weeks left!!! Every student/family that brings in a gift card ($10 value or higher, please) will be entered into a drawing for a special prize. To be entered into this drawing bring in your gift card by January 31st! Please click here to download the auction donation form, or pick one up in either school office.

GCS Dodgeball Tournament – Saturday, February 1st
Dodge, duck, dip, and dive in the GCS Dodgeball Tournament on Saturday, February 1st at 1:00 pm in the GCS High School Gym.
- Grab some friends
- 5 players per team but you may have extra subs
- $5 per player (proceeds to support Soldier Volleyball)
- We’d like to have enough teams for multiple age divisions (elementary, middle school, high school, and adults can play too)
- Come up with a team name
- Registration is due by Wednesday, January 29th
- $2 per spectator
- Concessions will be available

Valentine’s Day Orders – Due Friday, February 7th
Support the Senior Class and get something special for your friend, family member or favorite teacher. Orders are due Friday, February 7. K5 will be receiving their items on Wednesday, February 12. Little Leaders and 1st-5th will receive their items on Thursday, February 13th. Order forms for Elementary students will go home in folders soon! Order forms can be found online, in either school office, or you can use the link below:

Blood Drive
The Honor Society students of Genesee Christian School are reaching out to their community by sponsoring an American Red Cross Blood Drive.
The blood drive is scheduled for Friday, February 7th, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. in the High School Cafeteria.

Little Leaders
Sign In & Out Changes
All daycare/latchkey families are now able to use the QR code to sign in/out. QR codes are available at all daycare and latchkey rooms. Please follow the posted steps to help with the process. You must first download the ProCare app to use this feature-no photoscans are accepted.
Tax Season – Day Care Statements
If you would like a copy of your 2024 daycare statement, please email Cheryl Britton at cbritton@geneseechristianschool.com and request a copy. Statements will be issued on a first come first served basis, and will be emailed directly to you. Paper copies will be available upon request. Accounts can also be viewed on ProCare.

Winter Outerwear
The weather outside is cold. Please send your child to school every day with boots, snow pants, coats, hats and heavy gloves. Please label all outerwear. Unless the wind chill or temperature is too low we WILL be going outside!

Middle/High School
Winterfest – Dress Days for MS/HS
Jeans are allowed for those participating in the dress days.
Monday – Cozy Day – Dress comfy with athletic pants or pajama pants
Tuesday – Snow Day – White Out! Wear white (hats and athletic pants allowed)
Wednesday – USA Day – Dress in red, white, and blue (hats and jeans allowed; no athletic/sweatpants)
Thursday – Anything but a Backpack Day – Find a creative way to carry your belongings around (jeans allowed; no athletic/sweatpants)
Friday – Christmas in January Day – Wear your Ugly Christmas Sweater for our Skating/Bowling events and Christmas Chapel (athletic/sweat pants allowed)
*Winterfest Activities on Friday – please be sure to turn in your permission form and payment if you have not already done so.

Athletic Physicals🩺
Students planning to participate in athletics MUST have a physical form on file by the first day of practice. This form must be the MHSAA form completed and signed by a physician on or after April 15, 2024. This applies to high school and middle school sports. Forms must be on file at the school athletic office before try-outs, practices, or games.

Sports Fee
Each student athlete must pay the following sports fee per athlete/per sport/per season. These fees should be turned in by cash or check made payable to GCS to the Athletic Office before the first game.

Friday, January 24th to Arbor Prep Games A bus will be transporting the players of the Varsity Girls, JV Boys, and Varsity Boys Basketball teams to the games at Arbor Prep, Friday (1/24). Departure time is 2:10 pm from GCS. All athletes are required to ride the bus as a team to the games but may travel home with parents. The bus will be returning to GCS at the conclusion of the last basketball game for any players that need a ride back.
🏀Middle School Boys Basketball
Team Picture Day: MS Boys Basketball: Team & Individual Photos are scheduled for Monday, 1/27 right after school (3:15). Bring complete uniforms and be ready right after school. Everyone must be in the team pictures which are used for the yearbook. Individual pictures will only be taken if you tell the photographer you are ordering.
