Homecoming
For our homecoming game, we have a new attraction this year! An inflatable obstacle course!! We will also have our regular bounce house available. At the gate, we will be selling wristbands for these attractions. Ages 4 and under are $2 for unlimited bounce house play; ages 5 and up are $3 for unlimited bounce house play and access to the obstacle course.
Convertibles Needed!
The 2025 Homecoming class representatives would like to ride in convertibles for the half-time presentation. If you have a vehicle and are willing to drive two representatives, please contact Michelle Armbrust at marmbrust@geneseechristianschool.com.

Bucks for Bibles
Our first Bucks for Bibles day is this Friday, September 12th. Send in $1 (or more) for the Bible Project and your child can wear loose fitting sweats/athletic pants and an appropriate T-shirt for the day.
Spirit Week September 22-26
Dress down days for Spirit Week:
- Pajama day– wear your modest pjs, robes and slippers. Don’t forget your stuffed animal
- Twin day or Crazy hair/mismatch day– dress alike with a friend or do your hair and dress silly
- Fairytale characters– dress like your favorite storybook character
- Royals or Peasants– dress up like royalty or dress down like a peasant
- GCS Spirit Day– wear spirit wear or blue and white to cheer on our Soldier soccer team

Elementary Lego Robotics
We’re excited to announce the GCS Lego robotics club will begin tomorrow, September 9th. This is open to 4th and 5th grade students. The club will meet in the High School robotics room on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00pm-7:30pm. The $50 registration fee is due the first evening of the club. Homecoming Help – September 26
The Elementary is planning to sell popcorn and slush at the Homecoming event. We need parent volunteers to help run concessions. The more people willing to help the easier it is. Please email Mrs. Arnst at jarnst@geneseechristianschool.com or call the office to sign up. GO SOLDIERS!

Senior Pictures Taken Here – Wednesday, September 10
In the past few years it has become increasingly difficult for high school Seniors to obtain a head and shoulder picture for the yearbook. This year GCS is having Photo Factory come to the school on September 10th to take yearbook pictures of our Senior Class. The ENTIRE class will have a school picture taken (at no cost) to be used in the yearbook. Additional copies will be available for purchase through Photo Factory. PLEASE NOTE: Girls will need to wear a nice modest blouse for their picture, and boys will need to wear a collared shirt and tie.
Bucks for Bibles
Friday, September 12th is our first Bucks for Bibles Day. Send in $1 (or more) for the Bible Project and your child can wear school appropriate jeans (loose fitting, no frays, holes, rips) for the day.
Mum Fundraiser
Mums will be delivered on September 15th. Please make arrangements to pick yours up after school.
See You at the Pole
Wednesday, September 24th, is the annual “See You at the Pole.” The event (established in 1990) is intended to lift-up classmates, teachers, family, friends, and our nation in sincere prayer before God. The Middle and High school students should meet at the flagpole at 7:45 AM for a time of prayer.
Dress Days: Spirit Week – September 22-26
Theme: Fairy Tales – Once Upon a Homecoming
General Instructions about dress days:
- If hats are worn, they must be off during class.
- Jeans may be worn Monday-Friday (loose-fitting jeans, no holes, frays, or skinny jeans) if participating in the dress day.
- A no-collar rule applies for the week for the guys if they participate in the dress day.
- Full-face painting is not allowed during the school day but may be worn for games.
- Spray-on hair coloring is allowed during the school day if it is part of the “dress” for the day.
- GCS modesty standards apply every day.
- The regular dress code still applies for those who do not participate in the dress days.
Monday – Eternal Slumber Day (Cozy Day)
- Dress in jeans, modest flannel pajamas, athletic pants, or sweats; no tank tops
Tuesday – Mirror, Mirror Day
- Dress as a twin with someone else (jeans are allowed if participating)
Wednesday – Hallway Theme – Class Color Day
- Dress in your hallway theme and/or class color
- Jeans and athletic pants are allowed if participating in the theme of the day
- Picnic and games at lunch outside. Hot dogs, chips, dessert (pop sold for $1)
- Bring your corn hole games, footballs, frisbees, and other outside “toys” to enjoy at lunch break
Thursday – Royals and Peasants Day
- Dress up as royalty or down like a peasant (jeans are allowed if participating)
Friday – GCS Spirit Day
- Dress in GCS blue and white to support our soccer team (jeans are allowed if participating)
Homecoming Hallway Decorating (9th -12th grade) will be on Friday, September 19th, from 3:05-9:00 pm. (Any classes needing more time on Saturday must contact Mrs. Armbrust.) You may work before this time to prepare your decorations.
6th-8th – Poster Contest – Students will be working on their posters in Bible class. Small individual posters are required; large posters are optional and may be done as a group of 2-4.
Bible Project Bake Sale
We will be selling baked goods at Homecoming to raise money for the Bible Project. If you can help by baking items and bringing them in, please click on the link below to sign up:
Genesee Driving School
Segment 1: October 9-28 at GCS
Segment 2: October 6-8 at Montrose- students from GCS can join via Zoom the 1st two days of class, but they have to be in person the last day of class.

Athletic Physicals🩺
For the 2025-26 school year, an MHSAA sports physical is required for all students who participate in sports. A physical examination must be completed on or after April 15, 2025 to be considered a valid physical for 2025-26. – This applies to any students participating in high school and middle school sports.

Students planning to participate in athletics MUST have this physical form on file by the first day of practice. Forms must be on file at the school athletic office before try-outs, practices, or games.
Sports Fee
Each student athlete must pay the following sports fee per sport/per season. These fees should be turned in by cash or check made payable to GCS to the Athletic Office before the first game.

Junior High Girls (7th & 8th Grade) Volleyball Players🏐
*First game is this week. Away @ Faith on Tuesday, Sept. 9th. The game begins at 4pm.
Players should come prepared with indoor athletic shoes and knee pads for the team. Current sports physicals are required to be turned in by first practice to participate. Please have your player turn form in to Mrs. Walls in athletic office or Coach Tammy Brewer at practice (see detailed physical info ℹ️ above) Sports Fee of $100 is due by first game, 9/9.
