Sickness and Flu Reminders
With flu season in full-swing please be diligent in monitoring your child’s health. School policy is that children must be fever-free (without medication) with no vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school.

Enrollment Opening Soon
Enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year opens on March 1. More information to come soon. A few things to keep in mind for yearly enrollment.
- Enrollment completed from March 1 – June 1 ensures a seat in classes.
- There is a discounted enrollment fee if paid by April 15.

GCS Family Fun Day- March 22nd
Join us Saturday March 22nd from 9:30 am-11:30 am for a GCS only event at Rollhaven.
Skaters– $10, Skate/Blade rental- $5 Adult spectators– Free
Bounce house for littles– $3 Laser tag– $5 per game
We would love to see you there and we look forward to spending the morning with our GCS family!
A portion of the money raised goes towards the Class of 2025 senior trip.

Tax Season – Day Care Statements
If you would like a copy of your 2024 daycare statement, please email Cheryl Britton at cbritton@geneseechristianschool.com and request a copy. Statements will be issued on a first come first served basis, and will be emailed directly to you. Paper copies will be available upon request. Accounts can also be viewed on ProCare.

Elementary MACS (4th-6th grades)
Elementary MACS is coming up soon on Friday, February 28. If a student is in 4th, 5th, or 6th grade and has planned to do artwork for this event, please have the art completed and turned in to their homeroom teacher by Wednesday, February 19th so the proper paperwork can be completed in time for the event.
Kindergarten Enrollment (K5)
Do you know someone who has a five year old ready for Kindergarten? We want to meet families personally and take them on their own tour of the school. Invite them to call and schedule a tour, or go to the school website to submit an inquiry for more information.
Book Fair
Our school is participating in the “Ready? Let’s Read!” Christian online book fair. Check your child’s folder on Tuesday, February 18th, for the flyer with available books. The fair runs from February 24 to March 9, kicking off our annual Reading is Fun day in March. Please note: Genesee Christian does not necessarily endorse all books available.
Boys Jet League Basketball
Reminder: No Jet League Games this Saturday due to holiday weekend. Check with your coaches about practice times this week. For more info, see the athletics section.
Middle/High School
Pastors’ Luncheon for Middle and High School
We are grateful for our pastors! On Thursday, February 27, we’ll honor them at our annual Pastors’ Luncheon. Each church should have received an invitation recently, and your student(s) will have one to hand deliver to their pastor this week. Please encourage your child to personally invite their pastor, as a personal request feels more meaningful than a letter. We hope all our churches will join us in showing appreciation for our pastors on this special day!

Seniors

“SAVE AROUND” Coupon Books (similar to “Entertainment Coupon Books”)
This is a great opportunity for your family to earn money for class trips! The coupon books cost $25 each with a 50% profit to the seller. The sale runs now through March 7th. For more information, please check for an email from Miss Eskew.

Athletics
We will be having our annual “Athletic Senior Night” on Tuesday, February 11th after the Varsity Girls basketball game and before the Varsity Boys warm up. This is a night in which we honor seniors who have participated in Athletics at Genesee Christian in 9th-12th grades.
🌟 We ask that seniors and their escorts assemble in the hall outside of the gym at 6:30 pm. Mrs. Walls will be there to help athletes and their escorts lineup. We will use the art room to keep coats and belongings safe during the event.
Spring Spirit Wear Sale will launch tomorrow and close on Feb 21. Orders will be delivered to students the week of March 17th! All designs available in cotton & sport tek t-shirts and hoodies.
Athletic Physicals🩺
Students planning to participate in athletics MUST have a physical form on file by the first day of practice. This form must be the MHSAA form completed and signed by a physician on or after April 15, 2024. This applies to high school and middle school sports. Forms must be on file at the school athletic office before try-outs, practices, or games.

Sports Fee
Each student athlete must pay the following sports fee per athlete/per sport/per season. These fees should be turned in by cash or check made payable to GCS to the Athletic Office before the first game.

Coach Payne will be hosting baseball open gyms every Saturday from 7pm-9pm in HS Gym.
Spring Sports:
If your student is planning to participate in spring soccer, baseball or golf please make sure they have turned in a completed MHSAA sports physical signed by a physician dated on or after April 15, 2024. Current physicals are required on file before coming to first practice.
