Programs that Save
GCS is part of the Direct Your Dollars program and collects the printed receipts from Spartan Nash stores which include: VG’s, D&W Fresh, Family Fresh Market, Family Fare and others. We can earn rebate dollars from these receipts, but they must be the entire receipt! Please send any eligible receipts to the Elementary or MS/HS office.

Convertibles Needed!

The 2024 Homecoming class representatives would like to ride in convertibles for the half-time presentation.  If you have a vehicle you would be willing to drive two representatives, please contact Michelle Armbrust at marmbrust@geneseechristianschool.com. 

 

Little Leaders Preschool/Daycare and Latchkey

Our K3 and K4 program started last week. Please check your email regarding important information such as parking, drop off and pick up, supplies, etc.

 

Latchkey snack tickets are available for $10. 

 

Billing Information

The daycare has recently partnered with ProCare and will no longer be using FACT SIS for daycare/latchkey billing and payments.  You will soon be receiving an invite from ProCare to set up an account through them.  Please contact Mrs. Britton at cbritton@geneseechristianschool.com for questions about ProCare or your daycare/latchkey account.

Shoebox Chapel

Our students have been packing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child the past few years. We have the exciting privilege to hear from an Operation Christmas Child shoebox recipient tomorrow, September 10, in a special Chapel. Also, now is the time of the year to snag discount school supplies, if you can help. More information to come!

Bucks for Bibles at the Elementary 

Friday, September 13th is our first Bucks for Bibles dress down day.  Send in $1.00 (or more) for the Bible Project and your child can wear loose fitting sweats/athletic pants and an appropriate T-shirt for the day.

Volunteer Opportunity

We have some openings for volunteers in our kitchen. This opportunity is open to elementary parents and grandparents. We need help to prepare and serve lunch at the elementary building from 

8:30 am – 1:30 pm. You and your children will receive a free lunch and drink on the days you volunteer.  Interested?  Please email Lisa Riley, Kitchen Director at  lriley@geneseechristianschool.com

 

Homecoming Help

The Elementary will be selling popcorn and slush at the Homecoming event. We need parent volunteers to help run concessions. Please email Mrs. Arnst at jarnst@geneseechristianschool.com or call the office to sign up! 

 

4th/5th/6th Grade Girls Basketball Program:

The coordinator of the Jet League Basketball program is hoping to have a girls’ 4th, 5th & 6th grade fall program this year. This is an entry-level league that teaches the girls the fundamentals of the game through volunteer coaches. Everyone gets a chance to play.  

All games are played on Saturday mornings, with each game taking an hour to play. There will be a total of 8 games.  All teams will play 1-2 games each Saturday spanning eight weeks. The first date of the play will be October 5th.  League games will be played in the 8:00 am-3:00 pm time block each week.

Senior Pictures Taken Here – Wednesday, September 11th

Photo Factory is coming to the school on September 11th to take yearbook pictures for our Senior Class.  The ENTIRE class will have a school picture taken (at no cost) to be used in the yearbook.  Additional copies will be available for purchase through Photo Factory. Bucks for Bibles at the Middle/High School Building

Friday, September 13th is our first Bucks for Bibles Day.  Send in $1.00 (or more) for the Bible Project and your child can wear school appropriate jeans for the day.

 

See You at the Pole – Established in 1990
Wednesday, September 25th is the annual “See You at the Pole.” The event is intended to lift-up classmates, teachers, family, friends, and our nation in sincere prayer before God. The Middle and High school students should meet at the flagpole at 7:45 AM for a time of prayer. 

 

Dress Days: Spirit Week is September 23-27 – Middle and High School

Here are a few guidelines for the dress days.  Jeans or athletic pants are allowed each day IF you are dressed in the theme of the day.

 

Monday – Guess Who? Day – Dress as any character (book, movie, TV) or real-life person.

Tuesday – CandyLand Cozy Day  – Dress in modest pajamas or sweats

Wednesday – Clue Class Color Day 

  • Seniors – Black

  • Sophomores – Green

  • 8th – Red
  • 7th – Blue

Thursday – The Game of Life Day – Dress as a different stage of life

Homecoming Hallway Decorating will be on Friday, September 20th, after school till 9:00 PM. (Any classes needing more time on Saturday must contact Mrs. Armbrust.)

  • Cross Country Teams 3:30 outside @ El. Field  (no meet / practice only – remember your uniforms)

Athletic Physicals🩺

Students planning to participate in athletics MUST have a physical form on file by the first day of practice. This form must be the MHSAA form completed and signed by a physician on or after April 15, 2024. This applies to high school and middle school sports. Forms must be on file at the school athletic office before try-outs, practices, or games.

Sports Fee

Each student athlete must pay the following sports fee per athlete / per sport/per season. These fees should be turned in by cash or check made payable to GCS to the Athletic Office before the first game.
