Report cards for the Elementary/MS/HS will go home today.

Enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year – ENROLL this week!

* Enrollment note: The parent that receives the re-enrollment notification should be the first parent listed on the enrollment packet. This will reduce confusion on the tuition side of FACTS. Please contact the administrative office with questions.

 

School Play – Meet Me in St. Louis

Mark your calendars for this year’s production of Meet Me in St. Louis on 

April 18, 19, 20 at 7:00 pm. 

You won’t want to miss this heartwarming play that revolves around the Smith family living in St. Louis in the year leading up to the 1904 World’s Fair. The story follows the Smith children as they navigate the challenges and joys of adolescence, romance, and family life. With mischief and humor along the way, the Smith family learns the importance of cherishing their home, embracing change, and the enduring power of love and family bonds.

*Tickets are $8 each or 5 for $35 and may be purchased ahead of time OR at the door.

 

Post Auction Sale!

There are a few items left from our auction that are still available for purchase through the BidPal website http://bidpal.net/gcsauction24.  Bidding is open on these items NOW and will close Sunday, April 14 at 10:00PM.  Please note that items will need to be picked up at the elementary or high school buildings.  Raise Your Paddle Donations are still welcome! Thank you again for helping to make this year’s auction a success!  

 

GCS Family Fun Day- April 13

Join us this Saturday April 13 from 10am-12pm for a GCS only event at Rollhaven.

Skaters– $10, Skate/Blade rental- $5 Adult spectators– Free

Bounce house for littles– $3 Laser tag– $5 per game

We would love to see you there and we look forward to spending the morning with our GCS family!

A portion of the money raised goes towards the Class of 2024 senior trip.

 

Little Leaders Preschool/Daycare and Latchkey

Summer Program

Our summer program begins Monday, June 3 at 7:00 am.  If you would like your child to attend this program, please contact the daycare office for information at 810.743.3110 #2 or email Mrs. Kubczak at kkubczak@geneseechristianschool.com.

Daycare/Preschool Enrollment

We are taking applications for the 2024-2025 school year.  If you are interested in enrolling your child in our program, please contact Mrs. Kubczak at kkubczak@geneseechristianschool.com to schedule a tour.

All students 4 years old and younger must enroll through the daycare/preschool program.

Latchkey Snacks

We are offering a variety of snacks for your child to purchase while they are in PM Latchkey.  Latchkey 

snack tickets are available at $15 each.

Elementary

Academic Testing- this week!

Elementary IOWA testing began today. It is important that students get a healthy breakfast and arrive at school on time. 

Slush EVERY Day! 

With testing this week, we will take a few extra breaks and have slush available every day this week!

It’s Spring!

Our playground will be muddy for the next several weeks.  Please send boots, extra socks and outerwear with your child to keep them dry.

Kindergarten Enrollment (K5) 

Do you know someone who has a five year old ready for kindergarten?  We want to meet families personally and take them on their own tour of the school. New families can go to the GCS website to submit an inquiry for more information https://geneseechristianschool.com/info/#admissions

Elementary Active School Challenge

Congratulations to the elementary students for participating in the Active Schools Challenge in March! The results are in and Genesee Christian came in 2nd place with 362 average daily minutes!  Mrs. Forsyth will be receiving $300 to help purchase new gym equipment.  Many thanks to Mrs. Forsyth, our teachers, and parents for recording times and keeping the kids motivated.  Great job staying fit elementary students!

Yearbooks

Go to https://link.entourageyearbooks.com/my/GCSyearbook2024 to order your 2023 yearbook! The price is $35.00. Yearbooks will be available to purchase through May 1.

Junior-Senior Banquet

Tickets for the Junior-Senior Banquet are on sale now for $45.  THIS FRIDAY IS THE LAST DAY TO PURCHASE TICKETS.  (Juniors and Seniors should check their email for details.)

Academic Testing

  • MME Testing – Juniors will be participating in MME testing (ACT WorkKeys, SAT, and M-Step) this Tuesday – Thursday, April 9-11th.
  • PSAT 9 and PSAT 10 – All 9th graders will be taking the PSAT 9 on Tuesday, April 16th.  All 10th graders will be taking the PSAT 10 on Monday, April 15th.
  • IOWA Testing –  Students in 6th-8th grades will be participating in the IOWA testing on April 16-17.

*Please do your best to make sure that your students are at school on these important testing dates.

Bible Project

  1. This is our last Fun Friday for this year’s Bible Project. Ice Cream Sundaes will be sold during lunch on Friday.  We need a variety of items to make this a success.

  1. Our high school gym will be transformed into a Bible factory on Monday, April 22- Wednesday, April 24.  The students have been working hard all year to raise money for the printing of 50,000 copies of John and Romans.  We are now ready to assemble them.  We need parent volunteers to help make this final step a success in the morning and afternoon.  If you are willing to come in and help, please contact Mrs. Heath kheath@geneseechristianschool.com.  We are also accepting any financial donations for the final expenses to complete the 50,000 copies. 

Student Council

The Student Council is looking for new members to help plan Homecoming, Winter Fest and other fun days throughout the school year.  If your current 6th-11th grader is interested in joining, have them pick up an application in the Student Services Office.

Athletics

 

Athletic Physicals

Students planning to participate in athletics MUST have a physical form on file by the first day of practice. This form must be the MHSAA form completed and signed by a physician on or after April 15, 2023. This applies to high school and middle school sports. Forms must be on file at the school athletic office before try-outs, practices, or games.

Sports Fee

Each student athlete must pay the following sports fee per sport/per season. These fees should be turned in by cash or check made payable to GCS to the Athletic Office before the first game.
