The Christmas season is approaching QUICKLY! During November and December Raise Right (aka Scrip) offers a wide variety of bonuses including $5 and $10 gift cards. Orders for physical cards will be placed on the following Tuesdays at 9am: 11/28, 12/5 and 12/12.

Blood Drive
The Honor Society students of Genesee Christian School are reaching out into our community by sponsoring an American Red Cross Blood Drive.
The blood drive is scheduled for Friday, November 17, 2023 from 9:00am to 2:45pm in the High School Cafeteria. We need your help – only 11 people have signed up!!!

Alumni Choir Reunion
All GCS choir alumni are invited to join us at the 2023 Christmas Concert as we celebrate our 50th school year and the High School Choirs’ 10th year under the direction of Mr. Gonzales. Combined Elementary & HS Christmas Concert
Make your plans to join us for an enjoyable evening of Christmas music at the all-school Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 14, at 7:00 p.m. at Mayfair Bible Church. The concert will include musical numbers from all of the elementary students and several high school groups. All students involved in the concert will be expected to arrive at the church at 6:30 p.m. Doors will open to guests at 6:00 p.m.
*Middle School groups should be in concert dress (Boys – black pants, white long-sleeved button-down dress shirt, red or green (Christmas) tie, dark shoes. Girls – knee length or longer black skirt, dressy white top, black shoes.)
*High School groups: Boys – white button down dress shirt, black pants, red or green tie, dark shoes
Girls – dress ordered from Amazon and dress shoes

*Elementary students should wear a dressy Christmas outfit. Dress code still applies. Boys should be in dress pants and a collared shirt. NO JEANS, PLEASE.
Upcoming MACS Fine Arts Competitions
Registration for the upcoming Fine Arts Competitions are opening soon! In order for the students to prepare, paperwork will be sent out this week allowing the students to look through the various competition entries to decide what they may like to enter in the categories of speech, drama, music, and art. This will allow the students to take the time to prepare well for these events.

VG’s receipts
GCS collects VG’s receipts which can be turned into a donation for the school. Please send any VG’s receipts or any Spartan Nash receipt to help with this cash donation.
Little Leaders Preschool/Daycare and Latchkey
Winter Break Hours
Daycare will be open on December 21 & 22 and December 27-29 during the GCS Christmas break. Due to staffing, we will only accept students in Kindergarten, K4, and younger. If you need daycare during this time, please contact Mrs. Kubczak at kkubczak@geneseechristianschool.com or Mrs. Britton at cbritton@genseechristianschool.com. Drop-ins will not be accepted and spaces are limited so sign up early to reserve your spot.

AM/PM Latchkey Parents – Please remember to sign your child in and out of the latchkey book provided.
Snacks are available during pm latchkey only. $15 snack tickets may be purchased in the daycare or pm latchkey room.
Elementary
Operation Christmas Child
We packed 26 shoeboxes to go out to 26 children who will get to hear God’s Word shared! Thank you! Now we need to finish up with covering the cost to get these delivered. At $10 a box we need $230 to cover the shipping. Any amount helps! Please send in cash or a check made out to “GCS.” Thank you!
Auction News
Elementary Parents, we’re still in great need of monetary contributions toward the auction class basket projects. Please send in your contributions by Tuesday, November 14. If you have any questions, please email auction@geneseechristianschool.com or refer to the letter sent in your child’s folder a few weeks ago. Thank you for your support of the auction!
Clothes on Loan
If your child has borrowed clothes from the school, please wash and return them as soon as possible. After rainy days, we go through extra clothes very quickly!

Students may pay $1 to wear school appropriate jeans and $2 to wear slippers with their school appropriate jeans.
Carriage Town – Adopt-a-family for Christmas
Please check for an email from Mrs. Heath regarding the annual Bible class Christmas project. There will be a link there allowing you to see the needs each family is requesting. Please sign up to help spread Christmas cheer this year right here in our community. All gifts are due to your students’ Bible teacher by Wednesday, November 29.

Reminder: If a student is not able to be in school for any reason, and a pre-arranged absence form has not been turned in, the parent should call the Attendance Line before 9:00 a.m. to inform the office of the absence. Homework requests must be called in by 9:00 a.m. to allow time to gather the necessary materials. Please note that the Attendance Line is a voicemail so your message can be left during non school hours. At the middle/high school, please use the attendance line 743.3292.

Athletic PhysicalsStudents planning to participate in athletics MUST have a physical form on file by the first day of practice. This form must be the MHSAA form completed and signed by a physician on or after April 15, 2023. This applies to high school and middle school sports. Forms must be on file at the school athletic office before try-outs, practices, or games.

- Girls Jet League: three weekends of games are left on the calendar. Please note that washed / clean uniforms will be due back to the office by Friday,12/8. We use these same uniforms for our boys league. Receiving them back in a timely manner is important. We appreciate your promptness.
