Enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year
- Enrollment is completed online through FACTS SIS Family Portal.
- Enrollment completed by June 1 ensures a seat in classes.
- Enrollment after June 1 will incur a late fee of $25 per student.
Report Cards & Iowa Testing Scores
Student report cards will be mailed during the week of June 12th. Iowa Testing reports for grades 6th-8th will be included with report cards. Elementary Iowa Testing results will be shared with parents at the end of the year in a special assembly.
Lunch Accounts
Parents, please check your Lunch account balance in Family Portal (under the Family tab). If your account is showing a POSITIVE balance then please pay the balance as soon as possible (through Family Portal or send in cash/check). All negative balances (credits) will be held in your Lunch account for use during the 2023-2024 school year. Thank you!
Vaccinations – 2023-24 School Year.
Attention all UPCOMING K4, K5, 7th grade and NEW students
According to the State of Michigan all transfer, K-4, Kindergarten and 7th grade students must have all their vaccinations up-to-date or a certified State of Michigan Immunization Waiver Form from the county health department on file. Please submit a copy of your child’s updated vaccinations to the school office as soon as possible. If you choose not to receive some (or all) of your child’s vaccinations you will need to obtain a certified State of Michigan Immunization Waiver Form from your county health department. Please turn in this form to the school office. You may do this during the summer (Administration Office). Vaccinations for the above groups are reported to the MI Health Department at the beginning of each year. Any questions, please contact gcs@geneseechristianschool.com

Little Leaders Preschool and Daycare/Latchkey
Afternoon Latchkey
We will be outside after 3:30 pm (weather permitting). If you are unable to reach us through the buzzer, please call the phone number posted at our main entrance.
Preschool Graduation
Preschool graduation is May 26th at 9:00 am in the elementary gym. We will have a short program and light refreshments afterwards. Please sign up in the daycare room.
Daycare Early Dismissal, June 2nd
We will be closing at noon on Friday, June 2nd for end of the year inventory and cleaning. No latchkey.
CLOSED MONDAY, June 5th
Summer Program
Our summer program begins June 6th. Summer information packets will be sent home this week.
Latchkey Snacks
Afternoon latchkey has several snack options that are available for purchase at $.50 each. Your child may also purchase a $10 snack ticket through the daycare.

Bucks for Bibles
Our last Bucks for Bibles is this Friday, May 19.
Summer Math and Reading Program
Each spring we encourage students to stay sharp on math and reading skills over the summer so they are ready to dive in when we return in the fall. We have reading participation sheets and math fact sheets available to print under resource documents in Family Portal. Please log time each week and send that signed form into the office in the fall.

Middle/High School
Mackinaw Trip Meeting for Current 7th Grade Students
This is for the MAY 2023 Mackinaw trip NOT for the September 2023 Mackinaw Trip
The Mackinaw Trip meeting on Tuesday, May 16th at 7pm in the High School Cafeteria. This is a mandatory meeting for all students attending the trip and at least one parent.

Greenfield Village Trip – 6th and 7th grades
The Greenfield Village Trip is this Wednesday, May 17. All 6th and 7th graders need to be at the school by
8:00 am on Wednesday. Be sure and bring a sack lunch and water bottle for the picnic lunch. Bring spending money for souvenirs, ice cream, and any rides you would like. Dress in layers – school approved jeans and GCS t-shirt/sweatshirt are allowed.
Scheduling 2023-2024 Online Course Requests Open Until June 1
Course Requests for students are open on Family Portal and Student Portal. Mrs. Mein has met with students in grades 6th-11th to choose classes for the upcoming school year. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Mein at mmein@geneseechristianschool.com.

Seniors – Upcoming Events
- May 23th – Senior Award Night in the High School Cafeteria at 7:00 p.m. – students & family
- May 25th – Commencement Practice at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Swartz Creek at 1:00 p.m.
- May 26th – Commencement at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Swartz Creek at 7:00 p.m.
- June 1st – Final Transcripts and Diplomas are available. Diplomas must be picked up in the office. ALL uniforms must be returned and bills/fees paid prior to the diploma being released.
Seniors
If you need an official transcript sent to a college/university/foundation please drop off the complete address to Student Services or email both mmein@geneseechristianschool.com and gcs@geneseechristianschool.com .
ACT & SAT scores are listed on the transcript, but must be sent from the College Board to a college or university. GCS cannot order testing scores for students. Students will need to login to their College Board account and order those results and send them to the college or university of their choice. AP scores may also be ordered from the College Board site. Class of 2023 make sure that you request a “final transcript” to be sent to your college of choice (see instructions above). Transcripts are only sent to a college or university when you have requested it – this is not “automatically” done for you.
Awards Assembly for MS/HS – May 31st
The end of year Awards Assembly will take place on Tuesday, May 31st. Middle School assembly (6-8) will be from 2:25-3:05 and High School assembly (9-11) will be from 1:40-2:20.

Soldiers Snack Shack is Here!!!!
We are excited to announce the new GCS Concession Truck – aka “Soldier Snack Shack”. It will be up and running at most of the remaining home soccer games (including Districts) and a few of the home baseball games. Pizza slices, hot pretzels, hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, chips, candy, ice cream, and drinks are some of the items available. Make sure to bring cash (no credit cards accepted at this time) and check it out 🙂

Athletic Physicals
For the 2023-24 school year, an MHSAA sports physical is required for all students who participate in sports. A physical examination must be completed on or after April 15, 2023 to be considered a valid physical for 2023-24. – This applies to any students participating in high school (9th-12th grade) and middle school (7th-8th grade) sports.
