Blood Drive
The Honor Society students of Genesee Christian School are reaching out into our community by sponsoring an American Red Cross Blood Drive.
The blood drive is scheduled for Tuesday, February 7th, 2023 from 9:00am to 2:45pm in the High School Cafeteria. Masks will NOT be required. Donors will NOT receive a COVID test.

Auction News
It’s not too late to contribute to the auction GIFT CARD BLAST! Every student/family that brings in a gift card ($10 value or higher, please) will be entered into a drawing for special prizes. To be entered into this drawing bring in your gift card by Tuesday, January 31st! Please be sure to fill out the donation form when turning in any auction donations, so your family can get the credit. Forms are located in both school offices and on the website. Tickets go on sale soon- watch for a special email!
Auction Sponsors & Ads Needed
We are currently looking for business sponsors and advertisements for our 14th Annual Benefit Auction, taking place on March 18. If you own a business, or know someone who does, this is a great way to advertise your business and support GCS! Valentine’s Day Orders – Due Friday, February 3
Support the Senior class and get something special for your friend, family member or favorite teacher. Orders are due Friday, February 3rd. K5- 12th grade will be receiving their items on Friday, February 10th. K4 will receive their items on Thursday, February 9th. Thank you for supporting the Class of 2023!

Tax Season – Day Care Statements
If you would like a copy of your 2022 daycare statement, please email Cheryl Britton at cbritton@geneseechristianschool.com to request a copy. Statements will be issued on a first come first served basis and will be emailed directly to you. Paper copies are available upon request.
Latchkey Snacks
Afternoon latchkey has several snack options that are available for purchase at $.50 each. Your child may also purchase a $10 snack ticket through the daycare.

Yearbooks for MS and HS on Sale

Mackinaw Trip Payments Due
The next payment for the Spring 2023 Mackinaw Trip is due this Friday, February 3, 2023. Please check Family Portal for your balance and pay at least half of that balance at this time. ⛄ Winterfest ⛄ for Middle and High School Students
The Student Council has planned an exciting mid-winter fun week January 30 – February 3. There will be 8th hour activities on Monday and Friday, a special lunch on Wednesday and fun dress days all week.
Tuesday – Timber Tuesday – wear your favorite flannels to school – no pajama bottoms.
Tuesday will also be “Anything but a Water Bottle Day!” – you MUST carry water for the day in some sort of “container” – be creative – but it must be able to easily go up and down the stairs.
Snack Tuesday during lunch – slushies (Blue Raspberry/Hawaiian Punch/Coke) Cost: 50 cents
Wednesday – “Soup”er Sweater Day – wear your favorite sweater or “cozy.”
Lunch is provided on Wednesday (cafeteria will be closed).
Thursday – Fancy Day! – dress to impress while staying within school policy
Snack Thursday during lunch – floats (Vernors or Root Beer) Cost: 50 cents
Friday – White Out Day! – Emerald Lawn Care has sponsored this day and has paid for free t-shirts for the entire building. Shirts will be passed out on Wednesday of Winterfest week. Plan to wear them on Friday during the day and also at the basketball games at MOTT on Friday night for a GCS White Out! (*see information below)
- Appropriate, neat, loose fitting jeans may be worn Monday-Friday for those who participate. Jeans with frays, holes, or “skinny” jeans are not acceptable.
- For those who choose not to participate, the regular dress code applies.
- All dress should be modest and in good taste.
- Hats must be off during class.
- Spray on unnatural hair coloring is allowed. No full face painting.
- Most important—Have fun!
*White Out Information for Friday’s Games – February 3, 2023
Here are some details for the games:
- Location: Ballenger Field House at Mott Community College, Prahl Center Drive Flint 48503
- Game Times: JV Boys @ 4:30pm, Varsity Girls @ 6:00pm, Varsity Boys @ 7:30pm
- Parking: All parking around campus is available. Closest lot is located off of Prahl Center and Gorman Drives
- Ticketing: All tickets will be $5 for each person at the games (ticket purchase will allow you into all three games for the evening). Cash payments will be taken at the door.
- Facility Policy: Mott is requesting a no re-entry policy & no bag policy (personal size small purse allowed) for the games.

Early Dismissal & Bus Transportation for JVB / VG / VB Basketball Teams Today – Tuesday, 1/31 all three basketball teams will have early dismissal at 2:10 with a bus departure at 2:15 to the away games at Lansing Christian School 3405 Belle Chase Way Lansing, MI 48911
All players must ride the bus to the game. Bus will be staying at games until the conclusion of the last game. If your player will be riding the bus back to GCS HS that evening, please email me at athletics@geneseechristianschool.com by noon.
Athletic Senior Night Thursday, February 16th
Senior Night is a time to acknowledge senior athletes who have participated in athletics between 9th – 12th grades. Immediately following the Varsity Girls Game and before the Varsity Boys warm up there will be a time of special recognition for these seniors and their parents/guardians. Those participating should assemble in the hall outside the south gym. The “senior accomplishment forms” are due this week. Please make sure they are turned in to the athletic department by Thursday, Feb 2nd.

GCS will be hosting several home games. We appreciate everyone’s support in making these events successful 🙂 We need parent volunteers to run the game clock, keep the game book, and work the admissions table. Some Schools have notified us they only have one middle school volleyball team… There have been changes made to the schedule effective today.

MS & HS Baseball:
⚾️ Coach Payne will be hosting baseball open gym every Saturday from 7pm-9pm in HS Gym. Boys playing baseball in 7th-12th grades are able to come and throw as needed. Also, boys do NOT have to stay the entire 2 hours, but may come for a bit and leave if they need to.
