Thursday, January 19 – Semester Exams – out at 2:00 p.m.

Friday, January 20 – Semester Exams – out at NOON
  (MTA busses will be running on early dismissal days)


Auction Sponsors Needed

We are currently looking for business sponsors for the GCS Annual Benefit Auction, taking place on March 18, 2023. Business sponsors help to underwrite the event which allows for all auction proceeds to go directly to GCS. There are several different sponsorship levels to choose from and all levels include event tickets and a color ad in our Auction catalog. Tax Season – Day Care Statements 

If you would like a copy of your 2022 daycare statement, please email Cheryl Britton at cbritton@geneseechristianschool.com and request a copy.  Statements will be issued on a first come first served basis, and will be emailed directly to you.  Paper copies are available upon request.

 

Early Dismissal Reminder – Do you need Child Care?

School is dismissed at noon on Friday January 20th. Please email KKubczak@geneseechristianschool.com by Friday, January 13th, to secure a spot for latchkey on that day.

 

Latchkey Snacks

Afternoon latchkey has several snack options that are available for purchase at $.50 each.  Your child may also purchase a $10 snack ticket through the daycare.

Electronic Devices

Students with cell phones or smart watches should not use their device(s) during the school day. If a parent needs to be reached please have your child come to the office to call home or use their device. See the student handbook for more information on the cell phone policy, page 14. 

 

Yearbook Photos

We are always looking for photos to put in the yearbook.  If you have any pictures from field trips, jet league games or class parties, please forward them to vtebeest@geneseechristianschool.com.  Thank you!

 

Boys Jet League Basketball: 

*4th grade team First Game is scheduled for Saturday, 1/7 @ Genesee High School (not GCS) at 9am.   Each player is required to pay a sports fee of $50 to GCS by Friday, 1/6.  Please send in cash or check (made payable to GCS) payment to the office.  

 

*5th/6th grade team First Game is scheduled for Saturday, 1/7 @ Genesee High School

Semester Exam Week Schedule
WEDNESDAY, January 18, 2023 –  1st and  2nd Hour Exams – Out at 2:00 p.m.

FRIDAY, January 20, 2023    – 6th and 7th Hour Exams – Out at NOON

Washington DC FINAL Payment

The final payment for the Washington DC Trip is due on Friday, January 6th.  Please check Family Portal for your updated balance due.  If you are interested in joining us on this trip – contact Mrs. Heath kheath@geneseechristianschool.com 

 

 

Robotics

On Saturday, January 7th the game details for “Charged Up” will be revealed. We will be meeting at Kettering around 11:15am and our day will begin with lunch at 11:30. 

2023 Build Season schedule will begin Monday January 9th:

  • 1/7, Saturday 11:15am – 4:00  – FRC Game Reveal at Kettering First Center
  • 1/9, Monday 5:30pm-8:00pm at Kettering First Center
  • 1/10, Tuesday 5:30pm-8:00pm at Kettering First Center
  • 1/12, Thursday 5:30pm-8:00pm at Kettering First Center
  • 1/14, Saturday 9am-4pm at Kettering First Center

 

Events: 

  • March 2, 2023 – Kettering Week 1 District Event 
  • March 23, 2023 – Lakeview #1 (Battle Creek) District Event
  • April 6, 2023 – FIM State Tournament (SVSU)

Team Picture Day:  JV Boys, Varsity Girls, and Varsity Boys: Team & Individual Photos are scheduled for Tuesday, 1/10 right after school (3:15). Bring complete uniforms and be ready right after school.  Everyone must be in the team pictures which are used for the yearbook.  Individual pictures will only be taken if you tell the photographer you are ordering.

HS Baseball:  

Beginning January 7th: Coach Payne will be starting baseball open gyms every Saturday from 7pm-9pm in HS Gym 

 

Middle School Boys Basketball

Please turn in your uniforms into the athletic office.  Please place clean uniforms in the blue return bin located in the athletic office by Friday, 1/6 to avoid a $5 late fee.

 

7th & 8th Grade Girls Volleyball:   Practice will begin Monday, January 9th.  *Current sports physicals need to be on file in the Athletic Office before attending the first practice.  Use link to print off sports physical form → sportsphysicalform
