Sickness and Flu Reminders
With flu season in full-swing please be diligent in monitoring your child’s health. School policy is that children must be fever-free (without medication) with no vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school.
Enrollment Opening Soon
Enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year opens on March 1st. More information to come soon. A few things to keep in mind for yearly enrollment.
- Enrollment completed from March 1 – June 1 ensures a seat in classes.
- There is a discounted enrollment fee if paid by April 15.

Blood Drive – THIS WEEK!
The Honor Society students of Genesee Christian School are reaching out to their community by sponsoring an American Red Cross Blood Drive.
The blood drive is scheduled THIS Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. in the High School Cafeteria.
Anyone who donates blood in the month of February will receive a $20 Amazon gift card via email from the Red Cross! You must sign-up online and submit an email in order to qualify.

GCS Dodgeball Tournament – Saturday, March 2nd
Dodge, duck, dip, and dive in the GCS Dodgeball Tournament on Saturday, March 2 at 3pm.
- Grab some friends
- 5 players per team but you may have extra subs
- $5/player (proceeds to support Soldier Volleyball)
- We’d like to have enough teams for multiple age divisions (elementary, middle school, high school, and adults can play too)
- Come up with a team name
- Registration is due by Friday, February 23rd

Auction News
We are just weeks away from our donation deadline and we still need many items for the auction, so please continue to bring in any type of auction donation – gift cards, handmade crafts, small appliances, jewelry, purses, etc. (brand new items, valued at $10 or higher). Please be sure to fill out the donation form when turning in any auction donations so your family can get the credit. We’ll continue to have prize giveaways for students who bring in donations or ads throughout the month of February. Valentine’s Day Party
Our Valentine’s Day party is Wednesday, February 14 from 10 am to 11:30 am. Please remember to bring Valentine’s cards for each child in your class. Address cards TO: A Friend FROM: Your Child’s Name.
Presidents’ Day
The daycare will be open on Friday, February 16 and Monday, February 19 for students in kindergarten or younger. If you would like daycare for your child, you will need to sign up. No walk-ins will be allowed. Please contact Kristina Kubczak at kkubczak@geneseechristianschool.com.

Thursday, February 15 will be a Bucks for Bibles day. Bring a $1 to wear school approved athletic pants or jeans.

Lego Robotics–3rd and 4th grade
Join us on Tuesdays from 3:00-4:30 for Robotics club! Parents are encouraged to come and participate in the fun! It’s amazing what you can do with Legos.

Kindergarten Enrollment (K5)
Do you know someone who has a five year old ready for Kindergarten? We want to meet families personally and take them on their own tour of the school. Invite them to call and schedule a tour, or go to the school website to submit an inquiry for more information.
Middle/High School
Bucks for Bibles
Thursday, February 15 will be a Bucks for Bibles day. Students may pay $1.00 to wear school appropriate jeans for the day.
Creation Trip

Pastors’ Luncheon for Middle and High School
We are so thankful for our pastors! On Thursday, February 29, 2024, we would like to honor our pastors at our annual Pastors’ Luncheon. Each church should have received an invitation in the mail last week. Next week, your student(s) will be given an invitation to hand deliver to their pastor(s). Please encourage your child to use this invitation and personally speak with their pastor(s) and encourage them to attend. A personal request from the students is much more meaningful than a letter in the mail. We want our pastors to know how much we appreciate them and would love to have all of our churches take part in this special day.
Yearbooks

School Play – Help Needed
We are in need of some help building the set for the school play. If you have a “knack” for building things and would be willing to help, please contact Mrs. Mein at mmein@geneseechristianschool.com.

Athletic Physicals
Students planning to participate in athletics MUST have a physical form on file by the first day of practice. This form must be the MHSAA form completed and signed by a physician on or after April 15, 2023. This applies to high school and middle school sports. Forms must be on file at the school athletic office before try-outs, practices, or games.

Sports Fee
Each student athlete must pay the following sports fee per sport/per season. These fees should be turned in by cash or check made payable to GCS to the Athletic Office before the first game.
JV/Varsity – $100.00
Junior High – $75.00

Coach Payne will be hosting a baseball open gym Saturday (2/17) from 7pm-9pm in HS Gym.
If your student is planning to participate in spring soccer or baseball please make sure they have turned in a completed MHSAA sports physical signed by a physician dated on or after April 15, 2023. Current physicals are required on file before coming to first practice.
