The Christmas season is approaching QUICKLY! During November and December Raise Right (aka Scrip) offers a wide variety of bonuses including $5 and $10 gift cards. Orders for physical cards will be placed on the following Tuesdays at 9am 11/7, 11/28, 12/5 and 12/12.

Blood Drive
The Honor Society students of Genesee Christian School are reaching out into our community by sponsoring an American Red Cross Blood Drive.
The blood drive is scheduled for Friday, November 17, 2023 from 9:00am to 2:45pm in the High School Cafeteria.

Alumni Choir Reunion
All GCS choir alumni are invited to join us at the 2023 Christmas Concert as we celebrate our 50th school year and the High School Choirs’ 10th year under the direction of Mr. Gonzales. Combined Elementary & HS Christmas Concert
Make your plans to join us for an enjoyable evening of Christmas music at the all-school Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 14, at 7:00 p.m. at Mayfair Baptist Church. The concert will include musical numbers from all of the elementary students and several high school groups. All students involved in the concert will be expected to arrive at the church at 6:30 p.m. Doors will open to guests at 6:00 p.m.

Little Leaders Preschool/Daycare and Latchkey
Winter Break Hours
Daycare will be open on December 21 & 22 and December 27-29 during the GCS Christmas break. Due to staffing, we will only accept students in Kindergarten, K4, and younger. If you need daycare during this time, please contact Mrs. Kubczak at kkubczak@geneseechristianschool.com or Mrs. Britton at cbritton@genseechristianschool.com. Drop-ins will not be accepted and spaces are limited so sign up early to reserve your spot.

AM/PM Latchkey Parents – Please remember to sign your child in and out of the latchkey book provided.
Snacks are available during pm latchkey only. $15 snack tickets may be purchased in the daycare or pm latchkey room.
Elementary
Auction News
Elementary Parents, we’re still in great need of monetary contributions toward the auction class basket projects. We’ve extended the deadline to Tuesday, November 14. Thank you for your support of the auction!
Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes
We will need financial donations for shipping the boxes. At $10 per box this year we are looking to raise around $200 for the shipping. If you are able to help with shipping please send in cash or check payable to GCS (with “shoeboxes” written on the memo line) to the elementary office.
If you would like to order through Amazon (optional) or to view the items on the Updated “wish list” here is a link: https://a.co/7WGadNz. This link now has some “Wow” items (such as dolls, balls, etc) needed to complete our boxes. We need to have boxes packed by November 10. Thank you to those families who have generously donated items!

Student Statesmanship Institute (SSi)
The GCS Juniors and Seniors are involved in a 3 day mock legislative event this week sponsored by SSi. This “dynamic, hands-on learning experience for teens, places them in the middle of the action as they play the role of State Representatives debating and voting on real-world bills in authentic leadership simulations.” Pray that this event will transform the minds of our teens, and encourage them to think about themselves, their future and their world in the light of God’s purpose and plan for their lives.

Reminder: If a student is not able to be in school for any reason, and a pre-arranged absence form has not been turned in, the parent should call the Attendance Line before 9:00 a.m. to inform the office of the absence. Homework requests must be called in by 9:00 a.m. to allow time to gather the necessary materials. Please note that the Attendance Line is a voicemail so your message can be left during non school hours. At the middle/high school, please use the attendance line 743.3292.

Athletic Physicals🩺Students planning to participate in athletics MUST have a physical form on file by the first day of practice. This form must be the MHSAA form completed and signed by a physician on or after April 15, 2023. This applies to high school and middle school sports. Forms must be on file at the school athletic office before try-outs, practices, or games.

Each student athlete must pay the following sports fee per sport/per season. These fees should be turned in by cash or check made payable to GCS to the Athletic Office before the first game.

Clean uniforms are due back to the athletic office by Tuesday, November 7th to avoid a late fee. Please place clean uniforms in the blue return bin located in the front of the athletic office. We appreciate your promptness!
Cross Country👟
🎉A HUGE congratulations to Brooke Sonnenberg for running at states this past Saturday. She ran a 21:18 and placed 12th in Region 33. A wonderful way to end a great season

Boys Jet League Basketball:
The coordinator of Jet League Basketball is hoping to have a boys 4th, 5th & 6th grade winter program with games beginning the first week in January. GCS participation in this league depends on if we have enough players to fill a team and coaching availability.
