Report Cards

Elementary report cards will be in folders today.  Middle/High School will send home report cards on Thursday, 11/2.

 

Scrip Holiday Bonus

During November and December, you can earn 75% of the rebates that are earned through theScrip program. The Christmas season is approaching QUICKLY! During November and December Raise Right (aka Scrip) offers a wide variety of bonuses including $5 and $10 gift cards. Orders for physical cards will be placed on the following Tuesdays at 9am 11/7, 11/28, 12/5 and 12/12.

Lace Up for Learning- 5K Run/Walk

Dr. Wax Orthodontics is giving back to local schools through their “Lace Up for Learning 5K Run/Walk.” This is an all ages family-friendly event! All speeds (walk/run/trot) are welcome to join us on Saturday, November 4th at 9:30am at the Deer Run Soccer Complex (16021 Linden Rd, Linden). Blood Drive

 

The Honor Society students of Genesee Christian School are reaching out into our community by sponsoring an American Red Cross Blood Drive.

The blood drive is scheduled for Friday, November 17, 2023 from 9:00am to 2:45pm in the High School Cafeteria.

Alumni Choir Reunion

All GCS choir alumni are invited to join us at the 2023 Christmas Concert as we celebrate our 50th school year and the High School Choirs’ 10th year under the direction of Mr. Gonzales. Little Leaders Preschool/Daycare and Latchkey

 

Winter Break Hours

Daycare will be open on December 21 & 22 and December 27-29 during the GCS Christmas break. Due to staffing, we will only accept students in Kindergarten, K4, and younger.  If you need daycare during this time, please contact  Mrs. Kubczak at kkubczak@geneseechristianschool.com or Mrs. Britton at cbritton@genseechristianschool.com.  Drop-ins will not be accepted and spaces are limited so sign up early to reserve your spot.

Latchkey

AM/PM Latchkey Parents – Please remember to sign your child in and out of the latchkey book provided.

Snacks are available during pm latchkey only.  $15 snack tickets may be purchased in the daycare or pm latchkey room.

Auction News

Elementary Parents, please send in your contribution toward the auction class basket project by Tuesday, November 7.  Each class, as a group, is donating a basket (or item) to help support the auction and WE NEED YOUR HELP! Thank you for your support of the auction!

  

Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes

We will need financial donations for shipping the boxes.  At $10 per box this year we are looking to raise around $200 for the shipping.  If you are able to help with shipping please send in cash or check payable to GCS (with “shoeboxes” written on the memo line)  to the elementary office.

This link now has some “Wow” items (such as dolls, balls, etc) needed to complete our boxes. We need to have boxes packed by November 10.  Thank you to those families who have generously donated items!

Bookworm Calendars

Students who turn in their completed October Bookworm calendar will receive a pizza coupon next Monday (11/6).  Please encourage your child to read during the month of November.

AP EXAM – Deadline

Wednesday, November 1, is the LAST day to sign up for the AP Exams.  Please see Mrs. Hartwig!

 

Annual Fall Fundraising

Little Caesar pizza kit order forms and money are due on Thursday, November 16th.

Bible Project 

Praise the Lord!  $1,654.87 was raised for the Bible Project in the month of October through the Coin Drive, Coin Folders, Bucks for Bibles days and Fun Friday treats.  Thank you to all who have participated and donated treats! The next Fun Friday will be November 10.

 

Service Day – Friday, November 3

Students in 6th-12th grades will be serving at various venues on Friday making Veterans Day gifts, doing clean-up at both school buildings and at local homes, serving at the Eastern Michigan Food Bank, Carriage Town, For-Mar Nature Preserve, and ministering at The Oaks.  Please pray for the students to have open hearts to serve, safety for those traveling and good weather for the crews working outside.

Athletic Physicals🩺Students planning to participate in athletics MUST have a physical form on file by the first day of practice. This form must be the MHSAA form completed and signed by a physician on or after April 15, 2023. This applies to high school and middle school sports. Forms must be on file at the school athletic office before try-outs, practices, or games.

Sports Fee

Each student athlete must pay the following sports fee per sport/per season. These fees should be turned in by cash or check made payable to GCS to the Athletic Office before the first game.

JV/Varsity  – $100.00    

Junior High – $75.00   

5th & 6th – $50.00

Boys Jet League Basketball: 

The coordinator of Jet League Basketball is hoping to have a boys 4th, 5th & 6th grade winter program with games beginning the first week in January.  GCS participation in this league depends on  if we have enough players to fill a team and coaching availability.   Sign-up will be in November, please stay tuned for more information.
