Auction News

This is the last week for the auction GIFT CARD BLAST. Every student/family that brings in a gift card ($10 value or higher, please) will be entered into a drawing for special prizes. To be entered into this drawing bring in your gift card by January 31st! Please be sure to fill out the donation form when turning in any auction donations, so your family can get the credit. Thank you to the families who have participated so far!

Tickets go on sale THIS WEEK!  An email will be sent on February 1st with all the details, including early bird pricing. Don’t miss it!


Auction Sponsors & Ads Needed

We are currently looking for business sponsors and advertisements for our 15th Annual Benefit Auction, taking place on March 16. Valentine’s Day Orders – Due February 6th

Support the Senior class and get something special for your friend, family member or favorite teacher. Orders will be due Tuesday, February 6th . K5- 12th grade will be receiving their items on Wednesday, February 14th.  K4 will receive their items on Tuesday, February 13th. Thank you for supporting the Class of 2024! Order forms for Elementary students will be in folders today! Valentine’s Day order forms are also available online and in the school offices.  Order forms can also be found in the link below.

 

Blood Drive

The Honor Society students of Genesee Christian School are reaching out to their community by sponsoring an American Red Cross Blood Drive.

The blood drive is scheduled for Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. in the High School Cafeteria.

Tax Season – Day Care Statements 

If you would like a copy of your 2023 daycare statement, please email Cheryl Britton at cbritton@geneseechristianschool.com and request a copy.  Statements will be issued on a first come first served basis, and will be emailed directly to you.  Paper copies are available upon request.  Accounts can also be viewed on FACTS SIS.

Elementary MACS (4th-6th grades)

Elementary MACS is coming up soon on Friday, February 23. If a student is in 4th, 5th, or 6th grade and has planned to do artwork for this event, please have the art completed and turned in to their homeroom teacher by Wednesday, February 14th so the proper paperwork can be completed in time for the event.

Date Change

Creation Trip meeting date change: NEW DATE will be Monday, March 18th at 7pm in the HS Cafeteria. Please mark your calendars. 

“SAVE AROUND” Coupon Books (similar to “Entertainment Coupon Books”)

This is a great opportunity for your family to earn money for class trips!  The coupon books cost $25 each with a 50% profit to the seller.  The sale runs through February 9th.  For more information, please check for an email from Mrs. Heath.

Eyeglasses for Missions

We are partnering with Medical Missions Outreach to collect used prescription eyeglasses and regular sunglasses to send to the mission field in developing countries around the world to give the gift of sight to those in need. If you have any old eyeglasses or sunglasses you would be willing to donate, please send them to the MS/HS this week. Note: Please do not include eyeglass cases. 

 

Winterfest – in the High School Building

  • 1/30 Tuesday: Cozy Day: GCS flannel PJ’s, comfy, hoodie, slippers, athletic pants and school approved jeans.
    • SLUSHIES will be sold on Tuesday at lunch for 75 cents to support the Bible Project
  • 1/31 Wednesday: White Out Day: Wear last year’s WINTERFEST shirts or other white shirts and white sweatpants/athletic pants or school approved jeans.
  • 2/1 Thursday: Sports Day: Sports team apparel, athletic pants or school approved jeans.
    • ROOT BEER AND VERNORS FLOATS will be sold on Thursday at lunch for $1.00 to support the Bible Project.
  • 2/2 Friday: Lumberjack Day: Flannel shirts and school approved jeans.

 

Yearbooks

Yearbooks are for sale! Go to https://link.entourageyearbooks.com/my/GCSyearbook2024 to order yours! They are the low price of $28.00 until Feb.16th. The price will be $32.00 after that date. 

 

School Play – Help Needed

We are in need of some help building the set for the school play.  If you have a “knack” for building things and would be willing to help, please contact Mrs. Mein at mmein@geneseechristianschool.com.  We would like to build the set either on Saturday, Feb. 10, or Saturday, Feb. 17th.

 

Elementary MACS (6th graders)

Athletics

 

Soldier Socks Sale:

Athletic Physicals

Students planning to participate in athletics MUST have a physical form on file by the first day of practice. This form must be the MHSAA form completed and signed by a physician on or after April 15, 2023. This applies to high school and middle school sports. Forms must be on file at the school athletic office before try-outs, practices, or games.

Sports Fee

Each student athlete must pay the following sports fee per sport/per season. These fees should be turned in by cash or check made payable to GCS to the Athletic Office before the first game.

JV/Varsity  – $100.00    

Junior High – $75.00   

Jet League – $50.00

*Sports Fee of $75 was due Monday, 1/22. Sports fees are per athlete per season and due by the first game. Please send payments to the athletic office.

MS Girls Volleyball Pictures

MS Girls Volleyball l Team & Individual Photos will be taken  Monday, February 5th right after school (3:15). Bring complete uniforms and be ready right after school.  Everyone must be in the team picture which is used for the yearbook.  Individual pictures will only be taken if you tell the photographer you are ordering.
