Enrollment for the 2024-2025 School Year Is Open

Auction News

We are very excited for the 15th Annual Benefit Auction, which will take place on Saturday, March 16 at 5pm at the Genesys Banquet Center!  Once there, bidding will be done through your electronic device via BidPal. This makes it fast and easy to bid on silent auction items, as well as speeds up the check-out process by paying right from your device with a credit card (please note: there is a 3.5% transaction fee).  You still have the option to pay that evening with cash or check.  Please email cflory@geneseechristianschool.com with any questions.

This year’s “Raise Your Paddle” projects include bathroom renovations at the elementary school and some boiler updates at the high school. Our goal is to raise $50,000 for these projects. Please prayerfully consider donating to this project, even if you are unable to attend this year’s auction.  Donations can be made at http://bidpal.net/gcsauction24 or you can send a check in to the school office. Your generous contribution is greatly appreciated!

Little Leaders Preschool/Daycare and Latchkey

 

AM & PM Latchkey Charges

Please remember that if you drop off your child before 7:45 am or pick them up after 3:15 pm, they will be placed in daycare and charged a latchkey fee.  Children arriving between 7:45 – 8 am will go to the gym, free of charge.  Please contact Mrs. Britton at cbritton@geneseechristianschool.com or refer to the Daycare Handbook for more information.

Daycare/Preschool Enrollment

We are taking applications for the 2024-2025 school year.  If you are interested in enrolling your child in our program, please contact Mrs. Kubczak at kkubczak@geneseechristianschool.com to schedule a tour.

All students 4 years old and younger must enroll through the daycare/preschool program.

Latchkey Snacks

We are offering a variety of snacks for your child to purchase while they are in PM Latchkey.  Latchkey 

snack tickets are available at $15 each.

 

Good Friday- Daycare Closed

The daycare will be closed Friday, March 29 for Good Friday.

We love to celebrate reading! March is reading month. Look for more fun ways to celebrate in your classroom newsletter. Use this QR code to log your reading pages for the Genesee County reading contest to help our school win! You can log pages until March 22.

Lego Robotics–3rd and 4th grade

Join us on Tuesdays from 3:00-4:30 for Robotics Club! Parents are encouraged to come and participate in the fun! It’s amazing what you can do with Legos.

Kindergarten Enrollment (K5) 

Do you know someone who has a five year old ready for Kindergarten?  We want to meet families personally and take them on their own tour of the school. New families can go to the GCS website to submit an inquiry for more information https://geneseechristianschool.com/info/#admissions

 

Middle/High School

 

Fun Friday- March 8

GCS will be converting the gym into a Bible factory in just over one month.  The students will be working to fold, stuff, and staple the books of John and Romans for free distribution to missionaries for their ministries.  There is still a financial need to be able to cover the cost of printing 50,000 copies.

MS/HS Chapel – Date Change

Chapel will be on Friday this week rather than Thursday.  We have the Chamber Singers from Maranatha Baptist University coming in to sing for our students.

Robotics

The Cyber Soldier had a great first competition at Kettering University this weekend. They advanced to the playoffs to secure a strong finish. 

The next competition will be March 22nd and 23rd Friday/Saturday – Midland Week 4 District Competition

Soldier Socks Sale:  

Get a pair before they’re gone. 💨 Show School Spirit by purchasing Soldier Socks. Available in the athletic department $12 / pair (accepting cash or check made payable to GCS). Blue & White or Blue & Black styles offered.  

 

Athletic Physicals

Students planning to participate in athletics MUST have a physical form on file by the first day of practice. This form must be the MHSAA form completed and signed by a physician on or after April 15, 2023. This applies to high school and middle school sports. Forms must be on file at the school athletic office before try-outs, practices, or games.

Sports Fee

Each student athlete must pay the following sports fee per sport/per season. These fees should be turned in by cash or check made payable to GCS to the Athletic Office before the first game.

🏐7th & 8th Grade Girls Volleyball:   Last Home Games are tonight (Monday, March 4th) 7th grade plays @ 6pm & 8th grade plays @ 7pm.  Please Note:  Uniforms should be washed and returned within one week of the last game / competition.  Clean Uniforms will be due back to the athletic office on Tuesday, March 12th. We appreciate your promptness 

Girls Basketball Districts Begin This Week🏀

Girls basketball Quarterfinal game is tonight – Monday, March 4th at Oakland Christian ( 3075 Shimmons Rd, Auburn Hills, MI).  Game Time is 7:00pm.  A win advances us to the Semifinal game on Wednesday, March 6th at Oakland Christian – 5:30pm.  Admission tickets will be $7 per person and only available for purchase through GoFan; search for Genesee Christian School to purchase tickets.  No cash or cards can be accepted at the door.

JV Boys Basketball Uniform Return: Uniforms should be washed and returned within one week of the last game/competition.  Uniforms are Past Due – Please turn them into the Athletic Office as soon as possible.  We appreciate your promptness!

Varsity Boys Basketball Uniform Return: Uniforms should be washed and returned within one week of the last game/competition.  Please return your uniform to the GCS athletic office by Thursday, March 7th to avoid a $5 restocking fee.  We appreciate your promptness!

Varsity Spring Practices Begin on Monday, 3/11

 A completed MHSAA physical form  (link to form >)    SportsPhysicalForm  signed by a physician dated on or after April 15, 2023 is required on file in the athletic office before coming to first practice.
