Enrollment Opening Soon

Enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year opens on March 1st.  More information to come soon.  A few things to keep in mind for yearly enrollment.

The next Scrip ordering date for physical cards is TOMORROW, February 6th at 9am. The next date will be March 5.

 

Valentine’s Day Orders – Due TOMORROW February 6th

Support the Senior class and get something special for your friend, family member or favorite teacher. Orders will be due Tuesday, February 6th . K5- 12th grade will be receiving their items on Wednesday, February 14th.  K4 will receive their items on Tuesday, February 13th. Thank you for supporting the Class of 2024! Order forms for Elementary students will be in folders today! Valentine’s Day order forms are also available online and in the school offices.  Order forms can also be found in the link below.

GCS Dodgeball Tournament

Dodge, duck, dip, and dive in the GCS Dodgeball Tournament on Saturday, March 2 at 3pm.

  • Grab some friends
    • 5 players per team but you may have extra subs
    • $5/player (proceeds to support Soldier Volleyball)
    • We’d like to have enough teams for multiple age divisions (elementary, middle school, high school, and adults can play too)
  • Come up with a team name
  • Look for sign ups and more info coming soon!

Auction News

We are still in need of many items for the auction! Donations such as gift cards, handmade crafts, small appliances, jewelry, purses, etc. are all great options. (Donations need to be brand new and valued at $10 or more). Be sure to fill out the donation form when turning in any auction donations so your family gets the credit. We’ll continue to have prize drawings for students who bring in donations or ads throughout the month of February. Tickets are now available for purchase on our auction website: http://bidpal.net/gcsauction24  Tickets are a special price of $40/person through midnight on Saturday, February 10, after that they will increase to $50/person.


Auction Sponsors & Ads Needed

We are currently looking for business sponsors and advertisements for our 15th Annual Benefit Auction, taking place on March 16. Blood Drive

The Honor Society students of Genesee Christian School are reaching out to their community by sponsoring an American Red Cross Blood Drive.

The blood drive is scheduled for Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. in the High School Cafeteria.

Tax Season – Day Care Statements 

If you would like a copy of your 2023 daycare statement, please email Cheryl Britton at cbritton@geneseechristianschool.com and request a copy.  Statements will be issued on a first come first served basis, and will be emailed directly to you.  Paper copies are available upon request.  Accounts can also be viewed on FACTS SIS.

Elementary

Thursday February 8th

Thursday is our 100th school day!  Students can celebrate with us by wearing 100 things on your shirt or dress 100 years old!  Due to Valentine Parties on Friday we will serve SLUSH on Thursday.

Lego Robotics 3rd and 4th grade

Join us Tuesdays (starting 2/6) from 3:00-4:30 for Robotics club! Parents are encouraged to come and participate in the fun! It’s amazing what you can do with Legos.

Elementary MACS (4th-6th grades)

Elementary MACS is coming up soon on Friday, February 23. If a student is in 4th, 5th, or 6th grade and has planned to do artwork for this event, please have the art completed and turned in to their homeroom teacher by Wednesday, February 14th so the proper paperwork can be completed in time for the event.

Creation Trip Meeting – Date Change

Creation Trip meeting date change: NEW DATE will be Monday, March 18th at 7pm in the HS Cafeteria. Please mark your calendars. 

Fun Friday – February 9, 2024

Only three more months to raise the needed funds for the 2024 Bible Project.   $2,500 is the remaining balance needed to be able to print 50,000 copies of John and Romans.  Can you help us out?  

This month we will be selling bags of trail mix, chex mix, puppy chow, etc. If they can be valentine related – even better 🙂  Package the treats in regular sandwich size bags to be sold for $1.00.

School Play – Help Needed

We are in need of some help building the set for the school play.  If you have a “knack” for building things and would be willing to help, please contact Mrs. Mein at mmein@geneseechristianschool.com.  We would like to build the set either on Saturday, Feb. 10, or Saturday, Feb. 17th.

Robotics

Important dates for the 2024 season:

  • February 25th  Sunday 2:pm-5pm WEEK 0 event at Kettering Robotics Center
  • March 1st and 2nd Friday/Saturday – Kettering Week 1 District Competition
  • March 22nd and 23rd Friday/Saturday – Midland Week 4 District Competition

Athletic Physicals

Students planning to participate in athletics MUST have a physical form on file by the first day of practice. This form must be the MHSAA form completed and signed by a physician on or after April 15, 2023. This applies to high school and middle school sports. Forms must be on file at the school athletic office before try-outs, practices, or games.

Sports Fee

Each student athlete must pay the following sports fee per sport/per season. These fees should be turned in by cash or check made payable to GCS to the Athletic Office before the first game.

JV/Varsity  – $100.00    

Junior High – $75.00   

Jet League – $50.00

🏀HS Girls & Boys Basketball 

Triple header basketball games tomorrow (2/6) will be hosted at the Ballenger Fieldhouse at Mott Community College. Here are some details for the games tomorrow:

  • Game Times:  JV Boys @ 4:30pm, Varsity Girls @ 6:00pm, Varsity Boys @ 7:30pm
  • Address:  Prahl Center Drive Flint, MI 48503
  • Parking:  All parking around campus is available. Closest lot is located off of Prahl Center and Gorman Drives 
  • Ticketing:  All tickets will be $5 for each person at the games (ticket purchase will allow you into all three games for the evening). Cash payments will be taken at the door.
  • Concessions Available for purchase with cash.
