Red Cross Blood Drive
A big THANK YOU to the donors of our Fall Red Cross Blood Drive. 16 units were collected!
We will be hosting another drive on February 15th – please mark your calendar and plan to join us.

The Christmas season is approaching QUICKLY! During November and December Raise Right (aka Scrip) offers a wide variety of bonuses including $5 and $10 gift cards. Orders for physical cards will be placed on the following Tuesdays at 9am: 11/28, 12/5 and 12/12.
Auction News
We are currently looking for business sponsors for our 15th Annual Benefit Auction, taking place on March 16, 2024. If you own a business, or know someone who does, this is a great way to advertise your business and support GCS!
We are also in need of gold ribbon (1.5 to 2.5 inch) and gold spray paint- please send to either school office.

Lunch Accounts
Please check your Family Portal Finance tab to make sure that your child’s lunch account has a positive balance. Lunch accounts are prepaid. All students ordering school lunch should have a positive balance of at least $5.00 in their lunch account before ordering lunch.
Alumni Choir Reunion
We’re looking forward to hearing from the GCS Alumni Choir at this year‘s Christmas program. There will be a few opportunities to rehearse our song before the program. Feel free to join us at any or all of these rehearsals and be sure to spread the word!
– Monday, December 11 at 7pm – in the HS Cafeteria. Sight reading for alumni only.
– Tuesday, December 12 at 10:30am – join the HS choir rehearsal in the HS Cafeteria.
– Thursday, December 14- meet in the choir warm up room at 6:30pm at Mayfair Bible Church

Combined Elementary & HS Christmas Concert
Make your plans to join us for an enjoyable evening of Christmas music at the all-school Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 14, at 7:00 p.m. at Mayfair Bible Church. The concert will include musical numbers from all of the elementary students and several high school groups.
All students involved in the concert will be expected to arrive at the church at 6:30 p.m. Doors will open to guests at 6:00 p.m.
*Middle School groups should be in concert dress (Boys – black pants, white long-sleeved button-down dress shirt, red or green (Christmas) tie, dark shoes. Girls – knee length or longer black skirt, dressy white top, black shoes.)
*High School groups: Boys – white button down dress shirt, black pants, red or green tie, dark shoes
Girls – dress ordered from Amazon and dress shoes

*Elementary students should wear a dressy Christmas outfit. Dress code still applies. Boys should be in dress pants and a collared shirt. NO JEANS, PLEASE.
Upcoming MACS Fine Arts Competitions
Registration for the upcoming Fine Arts Competitions are opening soon! In order for the students to prepare, paperwork will be sent out this week allowing the students to look through the various competition entries to decide what they may like to enter in the categories of speech, drama, music, and art. This will allow the students to take the time to prepare well for these events.

Little Leaders Preschool/Daycare and Latchkey
Winter Break Hours
Daycare will be open on December 21 & 22 and December 27-29 during the GCS Christmas break. Due to staffing, we will only accept students in Kindergarten, K4, and younger. If you need daycare during this time, please contact Mrs. Kubczak at kkubczak@geneseechristianschool.com or Mrs. Britton at cbritton@genseechristianschool.com. Drop-ins will not be accepted and spaces are limited so sign up early to reserve your spot.
Winter Weather is HERE
Please be sure to send a coat, mittens, hat and boots with your child as the weather gets cooler.
Latchkey
AM/PM Latchkey Parents – Please remember to sign your child in and out of the latchkey book provided.
Snacks are available during pm latchkey only. $15 snack tickets may be purchased in the daycare or pm latchkey room.
Elementary
Christmas Store: Nov 30-Dec 1
The Christmas Store will be open at the elementary Thursday and Friday. Please see your child’s folder today for more information. Remember to send a labeled envelope with money and a shopping list!
Christmas Program – December 14th
Doors to the church will open at 6:00, however, elementary student rooms will not be open until 6:40. Please hang up coats in the hallway and have students use the restroom before entering.
Clothes on Loan
If your child has borrowed clothes from the school, please wash and return them as soon as possible. After rainy days, we go through extra clothes very quickly!
Winter Outerwear
The weather outside is getting chilly. We are asking that you send your child to school every day with boots, snow pants, coats, hats and gloves. Please label all outerwear. The school is not providing “in case you forgot” extras this year.

Carriage Town – Adopt-a-Family for Christmas
Please check for an email from Mrs. Heath regarding the annual Bible class Christmas project. There will be a link there allowing you to see the needs each family is requesting. Please sign up to help spread Christmas cheer this year right here in our community. All gifts are due to your students’ Bible teacher by Wednesday, November 29.
Athletics
Athletic Physicals
Students planning to participate in athletics MUST have a physical form on file by the first day of practice. This form must be the MHSAA form completed and signed by a physician on or after April 15, 2023. This applies to high school and middle school sports. Forms must be on file at the school athletic office before try-outs, practices, or games.

Each student athlete must pay the following sports fee per sport/per season. These fees should be turned in by cash or check made payable to GCS to the Athletic Office before the first game.

- Girls Jet League: Please note that washed / clean uniforms will be due back to the office by Friday,12/8. We use these same uniforms for our boys league. Receiving them back in a timely manner is important. We appreciate your promptness.
