Scrip Earnings

Scrip earnings after May 9th will be applied to 2022-2023 tuition. Scrip is a year round program so please continue using Scrip over the summer to start saving for next year.

Summer Tutoring
Mrs. Armbrust is setting up her summer tutoring schedule. If you would like your child to have the opportunity to use the summer to catch up or get ahead on reading, grammar, or math skills, please contact her at marmbrust@geneseechristianschool.com.


Lunch Accounts
Parents, please check your Lunch account balance in Family Portal (under the Family tab). If your account is showing a POSITIVE balance then please pay the balance as soon as possible (through Family Portal or send in cash/check).  All negative balances (credits) will be held in your Lunch account for use during the 2022-2023 school year. Thank you! 


Vaccinations – 2022-23 School Year.  

Attention all UPCOMING K4, K5, 7th grade and NEW students
According to the State of Michigan all transfer, K-4, Kindergarten and 7th grade students must have all their vaccinations up-to-date or a certified State of Michigan Immunization Waiver Form from the county health department. Please submit a copy of your child’s updated vaccinations to the school office as soon as possible.  If you choose not to receive some (or all) of your child’s vaccinations you will need to obtain a certified State of Michigan Immunization Waiver Form from your county health department. Please turn in this form to the school office. You may do this during the summer. Vaccinations for the above groups are reported to the MI Health Department at the beginning of each year. Robotics – Postseason Activities (for current and interested students):

Enrollment for 2022-2023 

If you have not yet enrolled your child(ren), we encourage you to do so by June 1st to reserve your spot for next year. A late fee of $25 per student will be added after the June 1st deadline. All GCS families (including K4 & K5) must login to Family Portal in order to complete enrollment. Call the Administration Office if you need assistance, 810.743.3108. 


Little Leaders

Daycare News
The Daycare will be closed on Monday, May 30 for Memorial Day.  We will reopen on Tuesday, May 31 at 6:30 am. We will be dismissing at noon on Friday, June 3 and will be closed June 6 – June 10.  Our summer session will begin on Monday, June 13 at 7 am.



Spring Music Program This Thursday

  Mrs. Bishop and the students have been working hard and are excited to share this musical program with you!


Summer Math and Reading Program 

Students who completed last summer’s Math and Reading program will be heading on a picnic. Look for permission slips to be coming home soon. 


Ready for Preschool (K4) or Kindergarten?

Do you know of a child who is getting ready to start K4 or Kindergarten this fall?  Round-up is by appointment only. Call the elementary office (810-743-3110) to schedule an appointment for a tour of the building and find out what our school is all about. Don’t forget the Tuition Credit your family can receive when you refer people you know!  K4 students must be 4 years old by September 1st and K5 students must be 5 by September 1st.  


Field Day – May 25

Field Day will be Wednesday, May 25, from 9:00-11:00 a.m.  If you would like to help, please return the slip in your child’s folder.


Soldiers Hoops 3v3 Intramural -May 2nd-June 2nd – 4th-6th grade boys & girls – Cost $30 

The Elementary 3v3 full court basketball league is starting this week. Practices are in the HS gym from 3:15-4:30  This is open to both boys and girls!  Here is the link to sign up your player. Middle/High School

Dress Code Reminder
With warm weather just around the corner, many of our young ladies would like to wear skirts and dresses to school. Skirts and dresses must be at least to the top of the knee and be non-form fitting/fit loosely. Boys will need to continue to wear collared shirts or approved spirit wear, hair length should not touch the eyebrows or ears, and faces must be clean shaven. Additionally, students may not wear flip-flops or beach sandals to school. The student handbook may be found on the GCS website (pages 30-31).



AP TESTING for Juniors and Seniors

All AP tests will be taken at GCS.  The morning exams begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. Students should arrive at school by 7:45 a.m. for an 8:00 a.m.exam.  Afternoon exams begin promptly at 12:00 p.m.  Students MUST not be late or miss school on the day of the exam.  These tests are from the College Board and MAY NOT be given at a different time other  than what is listed below.

Fun Friday

Mackinaw Trip

Mark your calendars for the Mackinaw Trip meeting on Thursday, May 19 at 7pm in the High School Cafeteria.  This is a mandatory meeting for all students attending the trip and at least one parent.  Contact Mrs. Heath with any questions kheath@geneseechristianschool.com

Seniors – Upcoming Events 

  • May 24th – Senior Award Night in the High School Cafeteria at 7:00 p.m. – students & family 
  • May 27th – Commencement at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Swartz Creek at 7:00 p.m.
  • June 1st – Final Transcripts and Diplomas are available. Diplomas must be picked up in the office. ALL uniforms must be returned and bills/fees paid prior to the diploma being released.

Awards Assembly for MS/HS – May 31st
The end of year Awards Assembly will take place on Tuesday, May 31st.  Middle School assembly (6-8) will be from 2:25-3:05 and High School assembly (9-11) will be from 1:40-2:20.

Do You Use Kroger Pick-up?
If you use Kroger pickup for your grocery service, please consider saving the white bags and donating them to the school.  One of our local churches has a food pantry and the sturdy bags work very well for the distribution of food to those in need.  Bags may be dropped off at the elementary or HS offices.  Thank you!

Sports fees are per athlete per sport and are due before the first game.

Varsity Baseball:  District tournament is scheduled for Friday, June 3rd at Mayville HS game time is noon.


Summer Basketball Skills Camp:

June 20-22 for 2nd-8th grade girls and boys (grade entering in fall 2022) in the HS Gym – Cost is $60. Online Registration is open.  Please use link provided Summer Basketball Skills Camp Registration
